Liberals really need to pay attention... I will type very slowly... By continuing to hype and create a story that Republican voters are likely not going to turn out this November... By claiming that the Democrats are going to sweep the House and Senate elections... By referring to Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi as Speaker Pelosi on Sunday talk shows... Are you really that dense?

The media doesn't create the polls? USA Today, CNN, ABC - all employ their own polling firms and THEY create the questions! If someone asked you a question in two very different tones - it invokes a different response - a different emotion. For example:
"How likely are you to vote this November?" versus
"In this heated election season, with talk of a Democratic takeover of the House and Senate, how likely are you to vote this November?"
Two very different ways of asking the same question - eliciting an emotional response.

This is one Republican that won't stay home and will vote for my Republican Congressman this November (no Senators up in my state).

The media isn't necessarily trying to suppress votes. I assume you are bothered that the polls they keep reporting show democrats with leads? Both parties are trying to suppress votes through negative campaign ads and dirty tricks (like the republican office in California that sent the flyer out telling immigrants (including legal ones) that it was a federal offense for them to vote in a federal election). Surely no one condones that.

The media may help a story create steam but they aren't writing the polls. They are just reporting them. And no, to answer your question, I will not let the media or the parties suppress my vote. Unfortunately there are now the voting machines to worry about too.

I see what you are trying to ask...

People get disillusioned by bogus media polls and think their vote doesn't count anyway. It's very disturbing.

I wish the media would NOT be given any poll results until the election is over. It's not right that election results are given before the people out West go to the polls. This discourages people from voting - and their local elections are actually much more important than the federal ones as their daily lives are effected by the smallest of propositions and the horrible judges who are re-elected because no one checks them out.

While "the media" do a lot of things I don't like, they can't stop me from voting.

How does the media suppress a vote???

Edit: ynotgayle -That is absolute bs. Who would opt not to vote because of a poll not leaning to their party's favor?

Wow! I didn't know there were so many conspiracy theorists on the right. So now reporting the news is an attempt to suppress someone's vote. That's hilarious!!

The lunkheads that ask how can they suppress you vote don't get it. if the media constantly tell people that one party is going to win a lot of people won't bother to vote that's how
