It happens here all the time. A liberal poster posts their opinion on an issue, usually the economy, and the conservatives are quickly out to call that liberal a socialist or communist.

If being a socialist means that you favor working people instead of big corporations, then I think that a majority of Americans, including me, are socialists, since a 85% believe in raising the minimium wage, more than 50% would pay higher taxes for universal healthcare, and a majority believe that labor unions are good. However, being a socialist does not entail that. Take your petty attacks somewhere else, please.

A new undertaking by Texas oilman T. Boone Pickens is even more disconcerting. Pickens has been acquiring acreage overlying the Ogallala aquifer with hopes that he could pump and sell the as much as 200,000 AFY of water to one of the state’s metropolitan centers – El Paso, Lubbock, San Antonio, or Dallas-Fort Worth. Ogallala is already severely depleted. The West Texas farmers rely on the aquifer for water. The aquifer’s minimal recharge rate of less then one AFY means that its users are mining fossil water that will not be replenished.

Hey Boone my friend, don't you care about those farmers or are you just interested in sticking it to your fellow texans?

Here is a classic Right wing response to one of my questions..

"Our property costs are lower ,our cost of living is lower. If you are a republican you will always find away to succeed.".

By every Index the cost of living has gone up in the last six years.. there is no disputing that..any one of you that says different is Lying !
The cost of housing is cooling down now.. but the last 4 years have rocketed through the roof ?
Job Losses ..not gains are the legacy of this president ????

It looks like the Democrats will win a majority in the upcoming elections.

It doesn't suprise me that parodies of liberals such as those by the name of monkey lib, Al Gore, and John Skerry III are obviously so frustrated to suggest that we liberals hate America, flaunt our greatness, or just say a really stupid thing. Sorry, guys, you aren't getting more people to vote Republicans.

NO BASHING THE PRESIDENT. Whether you like him or not - this is not that kind of question.
Do YOU think things are better or worse there NOW?

Then please state if you are a Liberal or a Conservative - thanks.

I understand the whole my people were salves and all the crap that happened from the results. But White people were not the first ones to sale blacks as slaves your own people happen to have been envolved in that as well. If it were not for a white president you might still be slaves today.....Martin luther King would not have been able to make his steps at creating a better world for you. Black people were not the only ones who were slaves. People of all races have been slaves. Now please dont take this as I am a racist white person as that is the farthest thing from what I am doing here. You say you want equality just like the rest of the population, well from what I see in this world you have everything that the rest of us do...If you want it....

"USAMA BIN LADEN IS WANTED IN CONNECTION WITH THE AUGUST 7, 1998, BOMBINGS OF THE UNITED STATES EMBASSIES IN DAR ES SALAAM, TANZANIA, AND NAIROBI, KENYA. THESE ATTACKS KILLED OVER 200 PEOPLE. IN ADDITION, BIN LADEN IS A SUSPECT IN OTHER TERRORIST ATTACKS THROUGHOUT THE WORLD."

NO MENTION OF 9/11! THAT'S ODD.

FBI Director Robert Mueller, in a speech at the Commonwealth Club on April 19, 2002, said: "In our investigation, we have not uncovered a single piece of paper - either here in the United States, or in the treasure trove of information that has turned up in Afghanistan and elsewhere - that mentioned any aspect of the September 11 plot." - The evidence against Bin Laden, promised by Secretary of State Colin Powell on September 23, 2001, has yet to be made available to the public.

I know many people who complain to me about taxes being too high, how there aren't enough police in their communties or that their neighborhood schools suck, when I ask what proposition they voted for in the last election or who they voted for I get the same answer: "I don't vote, cause it don't make a difference." Makes me want to scream. How can I get them to understand their potential power as us citizens.

I love it when we get accused of being cissies and taritors because we refuse to accept that a great county like America should stoop to the lowest common denominator. Occupation of a sovereign nation is wrong,.... taking our freedoms through ill-thought out legislation is wrong....fighting an ideology is wrong.... abusing people's religion and creating religious wars is wrong..... arresting and killing known terrorists is RIGHT....irregardless of your political beliefs.

I ask this because if you support the OCCUPATION of IRAQ, you are doing our country a great dis-service.

We are bound to lose and therefore you cannot care about our nation.. right?

All the great thinkers of this country and beyond now believe this is the case.
