I understand the whole my people were salves and all the crap that happened from the results. But White people were not the first ones to sale blacks as slaves your own people happen to have been envolved in that as well. If it were not for a white president you might still be slaves today.....Martin luther King would not have been able to make his steps at creating a better world for you. Black people were not the only ones who were slaves. People of all races have been slaves. Now please dont take this as I am a racist white person as that is the farthest thing from what I am doing here. You say you want equality just like the rest of the population, well from what I see in this world you have everything that the rest of us do...If you want it....

interesting how some of you think I am young......I have been to the ghettos i ahve seen what they are like....I dont think that I as a white person should be blamed for that in this day and age if your black and your living a bad life its because your holding your self back. I have my own life strugles to worry about I have kids I dont own my own house I dont own a brand new car I have furniture in my house that is older than my oldest kid its been repaired too many times. If my kids want to go to college they are going to have to rely on there good grades in school in hopes of getting a scholarship I cant by my kids new clothing but maybe once a year,,,,people I make less than $15,000 a year but I am happy with my life I dont feel the need to say it presidents fault that I am not rich or its the hispanics fault Im not rich with money just falling out of my pocketts....The point is I take care of my family and if there is a problem I dont blame it on anyone except my self

There is some debt that Abe and 4 or 5 other presidents ,had some black ancestry in them.

I think it goes beyond Slavery; it is not that long ago that black people had no rights in this country. It was segregated but equal, but the fact is it wasn’t equal. The whites school got better teachers, books and stuff. Where as the Black schools got the old things, is that equal? Hell no its not equal. There are still people a live today that remember what it was like in the 60’s and back , probably knew people who were killed by the Klan. Had to give up their seat for a white person, had to eat in the back of a restaurant etc. My mother isnt black but she can remember going to the south where her cousin got in trouble for drinking from a White only fountain, her cousin was white but he was very very tanned. It could even be said today that things aren’t completely equal.

Maybe if once slavery had ended and black people had gotten rights, equal rights. Today it would be different and there wouldn’t be so much of a grudge but it wasn’t. I’m not historian but it is at least over 100 years before Black people started to see equal rights, even after Slavery ended. It was only in what the 1970’s 1980's that it started to really happen.

Oh boy.. listen dude. Until you walk a mile in another mans shoes you can't judge him. Also by the tone of your post I am going to guess that you are young... humility is a most important virtue.. try it sometime

Until you walk in somebody else's shoes? None of the ones keeping the slave issue alive was a slave. I agree it was bad but it's time to chalk it up as part of history and move ahead.

my opinion on this is extensive so i will limit myself. i am too white. i feel that white as well as black people have alot of "hang-ups" with eachother that started way too long ago to fix now. they have their opinion of us and we have our opinion of them. with that i mean, we, both races have had bad situations happen to us by either blk or whte people. depending on what color we are, we take it too seriously and therefore BLAME it on the COLOR of our skin, do you understand what im sayin'? I have a bi-racial daughter and find that it is more excepting to the blk race than the white, not cutting down white people, but that is what i have found. I will close with this however, blk people have that slavery stuff hangin over our heads from like eight thousand years ago and intend to CONTINUE to use it!

I'm not black, but I'm guessing patronizing tones like yours are part of the reason they would be "angry" with us. I wouldn't blame them.

ok, first, you are young, you need to learn. second, they are not equal, urban blacks' education is far worse than suburbians. third, go and spend a few weeks in the ghetto, and youd be pretty pissed too.

They have to have someone to blame for their failure to take advantage of the educational and employment opportunities available to people who dont wear their trousers down by their ankles, grasp their testicles when they walk, shout profanities in public, and venerate gangsters who sell crack and shoot at police officers.
