I argue that all new immigrants should be have a mandatory cooling off period, followed by 5 years of proven paid employment with taxation records to substantiate, before being allowed any access to publically-funded welfare of any sort.
In the case of economic hardship welfare by deferred low-interest loan only and surrender of passports.

This would restrict welfare to only those who have been proven contributors and thus, eliminate scammers.

It would remove the non-contributing new-entrant drain on a heavily burdened system which most likely the two main parties are not keen to further fund and most likely will privatise the most economcially viable (NHS will be 1st- mark my words [if you had it- and were a slimey politician- wouldn't you flog it off too?]) it'll go to a German insurer- I'd put money on it)

I digress, what are your thoughts re: temporarily
suspending welfare for imigrants (refuges & asylum included)?

I repeat this q cos I put it in the US section y'day

It seems to me hes doing the American people a favour by outlining the problems their country faces. But why do some people hate him so much?

People have said rush limbaugh is a supporter of the troops..he cantpoossibly hate them.

BUT ITS HATE for liberals
that forces him to talk bad about our troops that is the problem.

SO Rush limabugh supporters...
who think he shouldnt nbe whiped off military airwaves...

He supports you when its conveninet for him...
but when soldiers are part of the group he despises...
he only shows hes not truly an AMERICA SUPPORTER...
only a republican supporter.

Hes not a troo-p supporter..
Hes chooses which troops he wants to support.

No not just the emasculated, castrated feminised wishy-washy UK- a government with balls has stated the obvious:

"Immigration Minister Kevin Andrews says African refugees are fighting each other in nightclubs, forming gangs and congregating in parks to drink alcohol."
Many Sudanese refugees who arrive in Australia have lived through years of violence and require trauma counselling.
Most have LOW LEVEVELS OF EDUCATION and REQUIRE GOVERNMENT SUPPORT TO LEARN ENGLISH, FIND JOBS AND ADAPT to the Australian way of life."

"Oh boo-hoo, (mince-mince) how tewibly wacist mumsy! The Guardian weads their wonderful cultuwal enwichers: the Afwican chappy in Sainsbuwies does a wonderful job of taking my gwocewies to the Volvo"

Labour-appointed police chief claimed they're not over-represented (mainly because the police are wary of 'racism' slurs after years of feel-gooder brow-beating about Aboriginal deaths in custody)

Why can Australians admit to what we all know as true- but not UK?

have the schools (which you control), in every class, add all the test scores of each student together, divide by the number of students, and hand out the resulting grade to each student? Better yet, average across the entire school.

Instead of the hard workers' getting A's (the greedy, capitalist pigs...we spit on you!) and the lazy bums' (poverty is a virtue) getting F's, perhaps you'll be happy by giving them all C's or C-minus, depending on the average.

I don't know if a national health system or gov't subsidized insurance is the answer, but health care costs are insane! I need health insurance, and it is going to cost me almost $200 a month!!! There are cheaper ones, but the co-pays are so high, I may as well not buy those. I'm 25 and a non-smoker, it should not cost that much. Why does it cost $10000 to fix a broken arm? Ridiculous.

...such as welfare and affirmative action when they themselves have benefited from it. Clarence Thomas got into Yale because of affirmative action. He was picked by Poppy Bush to replace a retiring black Supreme Court Justice because he was a black conservative, even though he was not qualified. But he is now a virulent opponent of affirmative action.

I read a number of years ago that there are some conservative pundits who once were on welfare but now oppose it for other poor families. Sadly, I no longer have the source.

Is this selfishness or do they think they could have gotten by without these programs?

I understadn the first time around, it was a big fat cheat.

But the second time around, that got me. People complain and complain about him but when given the chance to kick him out, they didn't. And now we're stuck with this descision.

I know some of you don't like Kerry but honestly, he's the lesser of the two idiots.

"Oct. 3, 2007
NEW YORK (AP) - A Long Beach, Long Island woman got the bad news that she had breast cancer. She underwent a double mastectomy and then was told the lab made a mistake and she didn't have cancer.

Eason is a 35-year-old single mother who is now suing.

Her attorney says Eason was the victim of a mix-up at the the CBLPath medical lab in Rye Brook. Eason has filed a lawsuit against CBLPath in State Supreme Court in Mineola last month seeking an undisclosed sum of money."
