have the schools (which you control), in every class, add all the test scores of each student together, divide by the number of students, and hand out the resulting grade to each student? Better yet, average across the entire school.

Instead of the hard workers' getting A's (the greedy, capitalist pigs...we spit on you!) and the lazy bums' (poverty is a virtue) getting F's, perhaps you'll be happy by giving them all C's or C-minus, depending on the average.

Crabby..."Democrats don't believe in 'equality of outcomes?'" You obviously haven't been hearing your Dem politicians speak in Congress or Hillary on the campaign trail, have you?

People, I'm not saying F-students are poor! I'm comparing A and F students in school to those out of school who work hard to make something of their lives and those who do little or nothing, thus staying poor, respectively. Your mistaken inference goes to validate a different point--that liberals aren't the brightest bulbs in the box to think I was simply saying F students are poor.

you'd be surprised at the number of prominent schools, including Universities that are simply pass/fail -- all run by flaming liberals

Grading based on knowledge is related to capitalism as grading based on class average is related to liberalism/Marxism/socialism/communism. Great analogy. The answer is, since very few Americans are liberals/Marxists, to take such a position would cost too many votes for now.

Why you people continue to fight and pull each others hair over the lies you "know you are being told" astounds me!

Everyone needs to come to grips that both parties have two separate ways of leeching all of us dry.

Our political arena is sick to the core on both sides and this separate party-line trash is just the distraction they want everybody focused on rather than the facts.

The American people continue to pay more and more regardless of who is in office or on the hill and lose more and more rights and benefits that protect Americans.

Your suppose to be in the richest nation in the world yet 2% has control over 80% of the worlds wealth..

Hello! whats wrong with this picture?

Grow up and research what government has been doing for the last twenty years.

Has to be one of the stupidest questions asked. You must be one of the students that was given a "C" average instead of the "F" you deserved! In case you don't know, people have different levels of learning abilities. To be in poverty because you do not possess the brain power to achieve & making the most of what you have is a virtue, some call it poverty. Lets look down our nose at those that do not have what have, makes us feel bigger & better!!

Democrats don't believe in "equality of outcomes." The fact that the nuts on the right claim that doesn't make it true.

What we--and most Americans--believe in is equality of opportunity. Given that, although individual outcomes will continue to vary, group outcome averages will equalize--because, contrary to the racists and bigots of the right, there isn't any of the groups they hate in the US that can't compete effectively--provided the playing field is level.

Except the bigots themselves. They are the only ones always looking to stack the deck in their favor. And only losers ever do that--no one else needs to.

Democrats believe that every student should have the same opportunity to learn the same material. That is, students with poor parents should get the same opportunity to learn as those with rich parents. What each individual does with that opportunity is up to them.

Equality of opportunity is different from equality of outcome - where did you find that gem of stupidity, a Republican handbook?

That's a good idea, then everyone will be equal. We can make a real push communism that way.
