...why do people listen to ANYTHING that comes out of Jimmy Carter's mouth regarding peace in Israel or anywhere else? Why didn't Jimmy Carter put George H.W. Bush in jail for blowing up the Cuban jet airliner through CIA backing of Luis Posada Carriles? Especially since Jimmy Carter, A SUPPOSED CHRISTIAN, was pro-choice?

With the blatant failure by the government to respect the rule of law, we face a great challenge in restoring America's moral authority in the world. Our moral authority is our greatest source of strength. It is our moral authority that has been recklessly put at risk by the cheap calculations of this wilful president....

Most Americans have tended to give the Bush-Cheney administration the benefit of the doubt when it comes to its failure to take action in advance of 9/11 to guard against an attack. Hindsight casts a harsh light on mistakes that should have been visible at the time they were made. But now, years later, with the benefit of investigations that have been made public, it is no longer clear that the administration deserves this act of political grace from the American people. It is useful and important to examine the warnings the administration ignored - not to point the finger of blame, but to better determine how our country can avoid such mistakes in the future. When leaders are not held accountable for serious mistakes, they and their successors are more likely to repeat those mistakes....

I mean, if you worked at a company some where and one of the guys were caught stalking a female co-worker, they would be fired and put on a security list. If a person left work for a couple weeks(like the VT kid did from school) for mental evaluation and the prognosis was 'a danger to himself and others', once again the person would be fired or at least watched like a hawk 24/7.

They say liberals don't know how to spank their kids and i think that Virginia Tech was a continuation of that theory enlarged.

Do you think Hillary's super-awesome universal health care plan will allow me to cryogenically freeze myself for free so i can be thawed out when a better administration comes to power? I know her universal health care plan will pay for animals' vet bills, but will it pay for my dog to be frozen too? I don't want to wake up 30 years in the future without him.

Is the bogus wonderland that fascist Karl Rove has been stuck in for the past 15 years about to evaporate in the noon-time sun of public opinion?

This Justice Department scandal has his fingerprints all over it and the American people are finally getting wise to his fascist tactics.

Monica Goodling isn't the only graduate of televangelist Pat Robertson's Regent University who has been hired by the Bush Administration.

Regent University has bragged about placing no less than 150 of its graduates in the Bush administration!

These partisan ideologues have been hired in the U.S. Justice Department in order to skew the political process in the most fascist partisan way.

Karl Rove and Dick Cheney are both fascists who have been feverishly working behind the scenes to put together the most long-lasting Republican dynasty ever seen in this country's history!

We're starting to get wise to all of this covert activity and the wheels are starting to come off of their evil plans!

Why do you like him? What good has he done? It seems that there is a unanimous dislike for him and I just want to know, are his supporters silent or is this some giant private joke I've been left out of?

BTW: No need to preach to the choir. If you have something bad to say about him, so do I and everyone else. I REALLY DO want to hear some kind of argument supporting him.

Do you really believe the propoganda and chest beating? To me you seem to be very much controlled. You have to wat until you are 20 to have full adult rights, England has them at 18. You are restricted to driving at pitifully slow speeds. You police are bullying and abusive when they pull you over for minor offences like a broken tail light or something like that. You are controlled about what you can drink, where you can drink. You even had a government that attempted prohibition. You can only gamble in certain states. You have no political freedom as demonstrated by McCarthyism and the Hollywood black list. Your government spies on you, makes companies like Google tell what you are looking at on the internet. The FBI know everything you do and keep lots of files on you.

Are you free?

Why is it important to be informed and think about current news ,politics ,social issues, world news...
I was really interested in them ,especially when I was at early 20s , now I'm 27 , I'm still interested and follow these issues but , I see a lot of people who don't know anything about them but live happier ,they don't bother themselves about what is happening around them. life easier for them,
let me add I'm not American , maybe situation is different there , ... I don't know if I could clearly describe my question or not ,but please let me know your ideas.

"Operation Northwoods, or Northwoods, was a 1962 plan by the US Department of Defense to cause acts of terrorism and violence on US soil or against US interests, blamed on Cuba, in order to generate U.S. public support for military action against the Cuban government of Fidel Castro. As part of the U.S. government's Operation Mongoose anti-Castro initiative, the plan, which was not implemented, called for various false flag actions, including simulated or real state-sponsored acts of terrorism (such as hijacked planes) on U.S. and Cuban soil. The plan was proposed by senior U.S. Department of Defense leaders, including the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Lyman Louis Lemnitzer.

So for all you people who keep insisting that the US government would never consider attacking its own citizens, do you still think that is the case?

If they would consider it once, why wouldn't they consider it again?

How do these two President's statements make you feel when seen in contrast with the other? How do you view each separately? What does it mean to you personally? What does it mean to you as a whole? Does one take away from the other and if so, how?

Please think deeply for a moment after reading these quotes and before giving your thoughts. Thanks!

Theodore Roosevelt, (1858-1919), 26th president, once said, "To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public."

George Walker Bush, 43rd President, once said, "Either you are with us, or you are with the terrorists."[

Hey, its an honest question that shows the wrong on the sides of both major political parties. Anything else and the democrats might jump on Bush with both feet, just because they can. SO why are the same "hypocisy-crats" quiet as church-mice about these matters? Hmm. ....and who, then, is supporting the will of the average working American? -Oops.

At what point did someone get the idea that being critical of public employee's like the President or the Prime Minister was = to hating troops and being a traitor ?

This seems to me an attempt at thought control and the limitation of freedom

How can you say you are free when such vulgar attempts are made to create witch hunts based on a political opinion of the governments orders to tax payer supported military's ?

Who pays for the government who pays for the military ?

Why the tax payer does and yet some want you to shut up and not have a say in how YOUR government and troops do

That is what used to be called either a facist or communist government - No say but the governments say

So is this method of reasoning - where if you disagree your forced to wear the label traitor a thought control effort ?

Heck look at the last two elections Bush vs. Gore, Bush vs. Kerry

1) Soldiers have a job to do - They are trained to kill to contain and so forth - They obey orders - that is thier job - no more no less

2) The military often gets hard to near impossible missions - They are the last resort to situations that are out of control. As such they are ussually very respected by the citzen's or subjects of their nations -

3) The government that is supposed to represent the will of the people command the Armed forces - They decide on what mission - where - how long and what rules of engadgement are to be followed if any - They decide what weapons may or may not be used on the battlefield - They decide when the war is won or lost --

4) To critize the policy of the government - for the orders they give the soldiers is to be critical of the mission they were given - This is not an attack on the employee (the soldier) it is an attack on the governments decision(s) to give the military the specific order it did

5) To critize the efforts of the soldiers or the behaviour they have on and off the battlefield - That is being critical of the soldier -

6) There is a big difference between we should not have taken that hill and saying the soldiers did a bad job taking that hill

7) The fact that this needed pointing out should give you a clue as to how manipulated society has become that one seeks to shut up people who are critical of the governments orders to the soldiers and being a traitor for hating the troops
