The majority of us are working class in America! The wealthy in rule & control screw us every angle they can even force us out of the money loop into poverty by all forms of immigration legal & illegal. Aren't you being suckered by the whole structure? Actually i am in favor of ending representative government, reducing them to at will well managed employee's Give ultimate rule & control to the Legal Citizen Majority via a True Direct Consensus Democracy legally by constitutional Amendment! By/for/of the LCM.

Yourself and many other Americans are becoming disillusioned by not only the current administration but the entire system of government we experience. I would like to add that the "electoral college" should be dismissed and an exact popular vote be implemented.

I don't mind so much that the wealthy rule. They obviously know how to handle large sums of money and are more than likely to know how to run big business. What I don't like is that they volunteer for the position and then vote themselves (counting on re-election so they can then profit from the vote) a pay raise. They are already making substantially more than those they profess themselves to represent. It's a far cry and great perversion of what Ben Franklin and the boys had in mind when they decided to pay members of congress a small stipend. The idea being, that those serving would be required to spend a great deal of time away from home (farm/estate). That being the case, without pay, only the wealthiest could serve. With a small stipend, then even the lowliest farmer could afford to serve.
No *sigh*, it should be mandated that someone running for office is already making $150,000 or more annually, thy would have to forgo the first two years of pay while serving -- with each new election. Pay should be no greater than the average mean of those they are "representing."
Just a few of my thoughts on the subject.

As long as that person is honest and qualified, I really don't care. Its hopeless however. The US will always be ruled by an invisible oligarchy that uses a president for a hand puppet.
