I think that Gore is one of the few bright spots in the democratic party but you are correct on everything else. Both parties are so far gone, that it doesn't matter who you vote for. The republican party has completely lost its mind and seems to be on the verge of falling apart. While the Democrats are so lost and out of touch that most liberals seem ready to abandon them.

The real problem is the republicans have changed too much and the democrats haven't changed at all. The same bullshit from the dems and new, scary bullshit from the republicans.

Under our political system(USA), a minority party can not survive; because one of the two major parties will steal their platform if they think it can win. That is why it is so difficult to decide. We have to weigh which issues are most important at the time of the election. Then we have to pick the candidate that is closest to that position. After the election, a depression or foreign event not expected may change everything.
