I mean, if you worked at a company some where and one of the guys were caught stalking a female co-worker, they would be fired and put on a security list. If a person left work for a couple weeks(like the VT kid did from school) for mental evaluation and the prognosis was 'a danger to himself and others', once again the person would be fired or at least watched like a hawk 24/7.

They say liberals don't know how to spank their kids and i think that Virginia Tech was a continuation of that theory enlarged.

liberals do more harm than good I think you make a good point about VT liberals are not helping kids or anybody. we should be good for our kids not good to our kids being good for means holding them accountable. being good to means letting them do what ever liberals are haters very negative pretty much losers

Well, for one thing, if a person receives a mental evaluation- no matter what the result is- it is illegal to reveal the results to anyone. Those are private matters. However, since there was a court order, he should not have been able to buy a gun from a store. There are venues where immediate background checks are not necessary- like at gun shows. You can't fire someone for their mental prognosis because that doesn't necessarily have to be revealed. Yes, stalking might put someone on a security list and probably fired, but...a college is not a job. You can't kick someone out of a neighborhood just because they don't fit what you want them to be like.

And...saying that liberals do not spank their children is a broad generalization. Sometimes it is necessary. I don't think the events at Virginia Tech have much, if anything, to do with "a liberal college failing." One troubled person's actions don't mean the whole system is flawed.

Well, it is the liberal's fault, but it's not necessarily because they didn't kick him out. One year before the shooting, the virginia general assembly killed a bill that would allow students with concealed carry permits to carry weapons on campus. Because no one was allowed to carry, the murderous-psycho-bastard was able to kill a bunch of defenseless people. If I was a family member of a victim, I'd sue virginia tech, and the state.

First, VT is not a Liberal College. Second, reason VT was not aware of the mental evaluation was due to laws in place at the time...ie: medical evaluations/doctor patient and several other reporting agencies.

Those loop holes were closed by Virginia Legislator's several weeks back.

Blame rest solely on the psychopath that commited the massacre. The problem with our countrie is when things like this happen people want to blame everything else. After Columbine people blamed guns, gothic subculture, the social heirachy of our high schools, etc everything but the shooters! You are absolutely right he should have been kicked out for stalking but that would'nt have guaranteed that it would'nt have happened.

No, let us put the blame where it is due, the crazy Asian kid that went on a shooting rampage. What would VTECH have done? Kicked him out of school? How would this have stopped him from doing what he did? It wouldn't have. The only thing Vtech did that was wrong was to ban students from being allowed to conceal and carry on campus.

the school does not have the right to invade a persons privacy...do you want schools to have more power than the government? Schools are simply a place to learn, they do not jail you or deny you rights based on medical or mental problems...The problem is deeper than one man going crazy and killing so many people...why did he have access to so many weapons when he was identified to be unbalanced...is it the school's responsibility to police everyone or to provide education? At the place you work they do not have the right to invade your privacy, they only have the right to fire you...if they had kicked him out of school for criminal actions at the school, it might have made no difference

i blame the liberal system rather than the college. since he was ordered to go to outpatient therapy, he wasn't committed and nobody knew he was a nutball. nobody knew of his juvenile record either
