The world's population is expected to soar to 9.2 billion by 2050, largely because AIDS is not expected to kill as many people as initially feared in the developing world, according to a new United Nations report.

The world's population is now at 6.7 billion.

The UN, which released its report Tuesday, expects Canada's population will jump to 43 million by 2050. According to the most recent census figures, released Tuesday, it's at 32 million.

who would it be and why? Please don't limit your thoughts to only those people who might be actually in the running, unless you really feel strongly about them. I'm kind of looking for ideas of people who aren't in the race (yet) so to speak. As Neil Young says "America has a leader
But he's not in the house
He's walking here among us
And we've got to seek him out"

Consider for just a second that Clinton was impeached for lying to Congress about sex. Bush on the other hand has committed these types of crimes:
Trashing the Constitution,
starting illegal wars,
spying on ordinary citizens without cause,
firing US attorneys for political not performance reasons,
Torture/giving the finger to the Geneva Conventions
Purposefully setting New Orleans up to drown (defunding levees)
Abandoning science and the environment.
Cheating his way into office
and most importantly: Either ignoring the warning signs about 9/11 out of criminal negligence, or doing so on purpose in order to advance U.S. hegemony.

But the question is: How many more crimes can the Bush administration commit before the DEMOCRATS in control (and the Republican minority for that matter) step up to the plate and save U.S.?

crying about the way their ancestors were portrayed? The Persians weren't monsters? So then they expect us to believe they had a "happy empire"?! I mean empire means you have acquired large masses of lands. Did the neighboring nations in that day just welcome the Persians in and say hey take us over we will glady be servants to the empire? Did they say "Hey, yeah, we get to have our lands invaded by another and thats great lets celebrate!"? cmon, what a bunch of crap! wake up from this delusional PC haze and realize Persia much like all of those in those times were brutal and gained power through conquest! Ask the Hebrews if they liked being slaves to the persian empire!

It's disgusting, Republicans will do anything for big business, and Democrats will do anything to stay in office. Why is this country's political process so broken?

I see a a lot of hostility between Americans here on Yahoo answers, that is people expressing a wish to imprison/expel/execute fellow countrymen for their political views. I don't buy into the whole liberal vs. conservative (read: neo-conservative) hate-mongering, but obviously a lot of people do. So let's get this thing out in the open right now.

Liberals:
Let's pretend for a second that all the neo-con wrong-doings got exposed once and for all (voter fraud, WMD-lies, secret prisons, 9/11, insider trade etc. etc.), and justice was to be served (for high treason, basically). Do you think that those who kept supporting the Bush-regime should be charged with treason and imprisoned/expelled/executed along with their neo-conservative leaders?

Neo-cons:
Let's say that the Bush-regime is fighting for a right cause, and for that they need to further increase their powers. Would you report your 'liberal' neighbors to the authorities as enemy combatants/propagandists / terrorist-sympathizers?

a "government of the people, by the people, and for the people"

Please don't respond with liberal and conservative diatribes. We've all been there, and done that.

Do we need to change the voting procedure, do we need to demand accountability from our elected, and other public officlals. And if so, how do we do that?

I have no personal agenda to promote, I'm looking for real ideas, not rhetoric.

Have at it.

His ID is known. They know his name, his appearance and his whereabouts. He's the architect of the info that paved the way to war. Whether Bush knew it was fake or not is another question. Should this man face trial?

I am particularly interested in articulate, non-profane answers. Thx.
