What right does Tony (Head Kicker) Abbott have to quiz Kevin Rudd on his recollections of what happened to him when he was 12 years old? The comments I heard on the radio were that as a challenging P.M he was open to all challenges. Did this happen to John Howard when his wife was going through Cancer treatment? This really is turning into a desperate mud slinging match from what I can see. How many times did the ALP question John Howard about his son 'shacking up' with a stripper?

Desperate people really do seem to do desperate things don't you think?

Is it just me or does Gordon brown look generally like a baddy. It may seem like a very simplistic question but just look at him when he smiles....he looks like such a fake/baddy/person who is only on the look out for himself.

Apart from the fact he is screwing me on tax, he just looks totally untrustworthy!

Or is it just me being paranoid?

Because I think both of them suck... Hopefully America will come to its senses and actually consider independent candidates in 08 instead of just voting for "their" party and letting the government gradually take control of every aspect of our lives...

I am going to be taking a year off from schooling and want to get involved with humanitarian aid. Is there an organization that takes volunteers? I would like to help. How? I was thinking areas like Darfur need it badly...i do understand how dangerous the country is right now but there must be some need for help with refugee camps that are set up in Chad, right? or is there just nothing i can do but give money? thanks

Many times the customer is TOTALLY INNOCENT yet gets charged by this robotic, computer-driven system regardless. For instance, if someone gives you a check that is "bad" (i.e., a check not covered by funds in the maker's account) and you deposit it and write other checks against it on good faith -- all the other checks you write will bounce. This is due to no fault of your own, yet you will get charged as much as $31 for each bounce.

I suggest everyone reads this article if you have ever incurred insufficient funds in your account. The point of this is we as people are getting screwed by banks and NO ONE is doing anything about it.

Can anyone tell me where this exact phrase is in the consitution or any of our founding documents? "Seperation of Church and State"?
If you look at the first amendment it says, "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances. "
-Now the part about religion. It says, "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion.." It does NOT say the seperation of church and state. So where does this phrase come from? When our founding fathers wrote this they meant that congress cannot establish a state sponsered church. Like back when our country was founded there was the Church of England which was the offical goverment church in England. Congress wrote the first amendment to stop a state sponsered church, not to completely ban religion from government.

The Army Corps of Engineers, rushing to meet President bush's promise to protect New Orleans by the start of the 2006 hurricane season, installed defective flood-control pumps last year despite warnings from its own expert that the equipment would fail during a storm, according to documents obtained by The Associated Press.

The drainage-canal pumps were custom-designed and built under a $26.6 million contract awarded after competitive bidding to Moving Water Industries Corp. of Deerfield Beach, Fla. It was founded in 1926 and supplies flood-control and irrigation pumps all over the world.

MWI is owned by J. David Eller and his sons. Eller was once a business partner of former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush in a venture called Bush-El that marketed MWI pumps. And Eller has donated about $128,000 to politicians, the vast majority of it to the Republican Party, since 1996, according to the Center for Responsive Politics.

you knew for sure that something catastrophic was going to happen tomorrow (like an asteroid impact, an alien invasion, a deadly and virulent untreatable epidemic, a nuclear bomb falling on one of your cities, etc) but you had the option to keep it secret from the public ... would you? Why or why not?

(Sorry if this question has been asked before ... I couldn't find it if it was)
