you knew for sure that something catastrophic was going to happen tomorrow (like an asteroid impact, an alien invasion, a deadly and virulent untreatable epidemic, a nuclear bomb falling on one of your cities, etc) but you had the option to keep it secret from the public ... would you? Why or why not?

The leader must inform the people of the threat in order that they will be prepared or can help prevent the catastophe. The leader must be transparent on this matter and the people have the right to know as provided for in the Constitution.
