I see a a lot of hostility between Americans here on Yahoo answers, that is people expressing a wish to imprison/expel/execute fellow countrymen for their political views. I don't buy into the whole liberal vs. conservative (read: neo-conservative) hate-mongering, but obviously a lot of people do. So let's get this thing out in the open right now.

Liberals:
Let's pretend for a second that all the neo-con wrong-doings got exposed once and for all (voter fraud, WMD-lies, secret prisons, 9/11, insider trade etc. etc.), and justice was to be served (for high treason, basically). Do you think that those who kept supporting the Bush-regime should be charged with treason and imprisoned/expelled/executed along with their neo-conservative leaders?

Neo-cons:
Let's say that the Bush-regime is fighting for a right cause, and for that they need to further increase their powers. Would you report your 'liberal' neighbors to the authorities as enemy combatants/propagandists / terrorist-sympathizers?

If I may offer an outsiders opinion.

From outside the US, the polarization of America is very disturbing. As you say, there appears to be a fascistic bent to all the posturing. You have Conservatives accusing every liberal of being a traitor or worse and you have Liberals accusing every Conservative of being a nazi or worse. From where I sit, I believe most Americans to be in the middle ground on most subjects and that it is the extremes at both ends that are playing against the middle. Are SOME Conservatives hateful homophobic racists radical fudamentalist christians bent on global domination.....frankly, yes. Are SOME Liberals spiteful atheistic PC thought police bent on subjugating the masses, more assuredly.

The point is, respectful political and ideological discourse seems to have collapsed under the weight of disingenuous commentary who's sole purpose seems to be to keep Americans so scared and so rattled, that only the politicians, both Republican and Democrat, can keep control of the power.

This of course is only my opinion and again is based solely on what I see going on.

My respects.

"... considering that fascists can't stay in potential for ANY era of time without the finished annihilation of all political warring parties, " How particular are you that this hasn't already befell? ok, I grant you that we've a "2 get at the same time equipment," and so that you may vote for both Republicans or Democrats or you may besides no longer vote, yet... If there have been a real 0.33 get at the same time.... What may it look like? do not you imagine it might want to be so noticeably diverse that it may make both contemporary activities basically look same? issues that make you bypass "hmmmmmmmm." So, possibly they already have eliminated all competition, and all that's left are activities that characterize Liberalism and more beneficial-Liberal-ism. I basically do not have self assurance that's plausible for any 2 activities, real or imagined, extant or hypothetical, to characterize even 1/2 of a rustic this length.

Neo-Con (God I hate that word, especially because it is innacurate and a liberal word about conservatives)

I have always beleived in a strong executive, much as did Adams, Madison, and Washington. Even Jefferson, definitly not a fan of a strong executive, grew the powers of the executive when he became one. I believe in a strong senate, strong house, and weak judiciary.

If my neighbors acted in a way that directly hurt American efforts, yes I would act. However, that is not facism. That is patriotism. Thomas Paine once said "My country right or wrong, but my country..." Thomas Paine was a great patriot.

If my neighors disagreed with policy...good for them. If they sought to cause damage to American infrastrucutre, then poo on them.

I have also been dismayed to see how much hate is being spilled out. I am a proponent of individual freedom. It seems the mob mentality is becoming more chic, however.

Good question!

You should also include the left wing wackos. Is it because you use liberalism to disguise your left wing wacko identity?
