"Relations between the two border countries have only grown worse since Bush signed a law calling for construction of more than 700 miles of new fencing along the long border the two countries share. Calderon has lambasted the fence — a mix of physical and high-tech barriers. He likens it to the Berlin Wall, and argues that both countries need to improve Mexico's economy to lessen the desire to seek work in the United States."
(Why is it our responsibility to improve Mexicos economy? The Berlin Wall divided a country in two, we are talking about 2 countries already divided, and how to stay that way.)

"Before their talks, Calderon had a tough message for Bush: The United States must do more to solve thorny issues of drug-trafficking and immigration."
(I may be wrong but it seems that we're trying to solve the issues, but MEXICO isn't doing anything, because police and politicians are corrupt and turn a blind eye.) Should we use a more aggressive method than just a fence?

I am not saying it is good, or bad. I just would like to know what the benefits are for current Americans, if any. I respect all opinions, unless they are abusive towards me for asking a question.

We don't need scientific evidence to see how destructive man is to this planet. Our pollution ruins rivers and lakes and
our pollution forever taints the ground into which it seeps or is poured into. The air we breath is full of pollutants. So much so some of us cannot live in those cities and cannot breathe.
Why on earth do we need science to tell us we are ruining this earth in every way. Common sense should prevail - pollution can change everything - including the climate.

Many congressmen say these 8 U.S. attorneys had a spotless record after reviewing the facts.
Why in the world would 8 of them be fired, especially all at once as they were?
So were they all fired because they were not tough enough on Democrats, as many congressmen suggest?
If not, then why did Kyle Sampson, chief of staff to Gonzalez, decide to resign over this controversy?
With this scandal, and the issue of Gonzalez indicting Ramos and Capion, should Gonzalez be forced to step down?

Scientists who questioned mankind's impact on climate change have received death threats and claim to have been shunned by the scientific community.

They say the debate on global warming has been "hijacked" by a powerful alliance of politicians, scientists and environmentalists who have stifled all questioning about the true environmental impact of carbon dioxide emissions.

Timothy Ball, a former climatology professor at the University of Winnipeg in Canada, has received five deaths threats by email since raising concerns about the degree to which man was affecting climate change.

Can someone explain the rationale to me about this one.
Let's say a guy commits a crime, spends time in prison and is released on probation.
Then some are disenfranchised from voting in elections.
I thought voting was a right, not a privilege.
I can understand revoking drivers licenses, etc., but what purpose does this really serve?
It should instill some social responsibility by forcing these individuals to vote, if it could in fact be done.

Why do we allow them to bite the hand that feeds? If the world wants us NOT to stop projecting our influence on the world, THEY need to stop asking for stuff. You can't take and give nothing in return.

In 2000, 2 black men with guns walked into the home of 3 white guys and 2 white women. The black men beat the men, stripped them naked, and threw them in a closet. They then repeatedly raped the 2 white women. They ordered the 3 men out of the closet and made them perform sexual acts on the white females. A little later they forced the naked men and women into the trunk of their car and drove to an atm machine where they made them withdrawl money from their bank accounts. They returned to their home and once again took turns raping the women. Finally they loaded them up into their truck and drove them to a nearby field. The black men lined the 5 nude victims up and shot each one in the back of the head. Upon leaving they ran over the bodies with their truck.
Not ONE national news station or paper made even a mention of this horrific massacre. Unfortunately, these are not isolated crimes. However you wouldn't know that as they are surppressed by the media.
