How about if the United States KEEPS the $50 billion a year we just give away in foreign aid? How about if you call the United Nations instead of the United States the next time your country is hit with a tsunami, flood, earthquake, volcano, or if somebody invades you? How about if you figure out your own way to feed your own people and deal with disease epidemics on your own? How about if we shut down ALL military bases worldwide, cut all military support and funding, and how about if you ALL fend for yourselves from now on? How would that be?

Am I the only one that thinks that maybe the United States needs to quit being world police and start worrying about our own citizens isntead? Sounds like a plan to me! And the next time a Hitler or a Stalin or a Hussein threatens your country, we'll keep our nose out of YOUR business! WE PROMISE!

.especially considering the farce presented pre-Iraq invasion.

Excerpt A.P.
Baghdad: February 10, 2007
The administration has accused Tehran of funneling money and weapons to Shiite militiamen and Sunni insurgents in Iraq, and U.S. forces have launched raids on Iranian targets in Iraq.
But little evidence, such as documents or other items collected in the raids, has been made public. National security officials in Washington and Baghdad have worked for weeks on a presentation intended to provide evidence of the administration's claims.
U.S. officials in Baghdad scheduled a media briefing for Sunday that was expected to detail allegations of Iranian involvement.
Humnph.
I find it difficult to believe ANY so-called 'intelligence' presented by the U.S. Weapons can be bought & sold anywhere, and RE-identified at will. Besides, soon after the start of Iraq war, weapons manufactured by the United States were found all over Iraq.

It looks like dejavu. Comments?

and then turn right around and complain about America "sticking its nose into the business of others"? Why is America always the country appealed to for help, but then is the butt of all the jokes, the centerfold of slander, and the scapegoat for whats wrong with the world? America can't win. Other countries feel as if it is America's duty to assist other nations when times are rough, and to take a stand, as the leading world power, on different issues which have nothing to do with us (i.e. Israel/Palestine, Northern Ireland, Kosovo, etc). But once America forms its opinion for one way or another, somebody always hates us. We can never win. And then we get lambasted for "butting in" to issues that are not our business. Why? Why can't we just be left alone, or why can't the international community stop bitching, or why can't the international community stop asking us for our opinion?

I mean let's be smart about this already. Left, Right, Conservative, Liberal, etc, etc, etc, these labels are pointless because very few people fit the profile 100% anyway. I think we can all agree that the US can use alot of work and cleaning up, and that alot of people are getting very tired of the way things are today, why don't we just drop the labels and just get down to business already, make some real changes to make life better for everyone? I personally think all this labeling is a waste and impedes progress. Your thoughts?

Why would someone risk time and their money to create a business if there was no chance of a significant return on their investment?

We know that 95% of businesses fail.
We know that it takes a few years to break even.
We need entrepreneurs to start and expand new businesses to create more jobs and create economic growth.

Why then after all this do liberals think it is a good thing to tax and regulate businesses so heavily?

The civil war truly was an illegal war. The South had every right to leave the United States. Yet depressed drug addict Abraham Lincoln started a war to try to bully the south around.
It was more than just slavery, the northern government was way too opprsesive. And it is getting worse nowadays.
Just asking but should the Confederacy try to reseperate from America today? Obviously no war will happen since this is 2007, but now that the south is free to leave-- should they?

my ancestors fought for the north but this is my opinion on the civil war.
