1964 was to last yaer now they make the clad coins with the copper centers. Ever once in a while you will get one in change still, they make a strong metallic sound agains non silver coins

1965 marked the debut of the "sandwich" coins which are a mixture of alloys, not precious metal like silver. Although it sounds like pennies might go the way of silver coins.
