To be honest after this last congressional election i am extremely skeptical of even voting. WE vote and it hardly seems to matter.

For example....

We as a people have already spoken against this war. We have said NO MORE and BRING OUR TROOPS HOME and yet for some reason there still seems to be some debate about this up on capitalist hill. Figure that one out. If you have any intelligence at all one can put a lampshade on their lightbulb that went off over their head and sit back, read the paper and laugh at all the balony in the headlines about the 2008 elections knowing that we no longer live in a democracy. The only way i would vote is if suddenly my bulb went out and was replaced with and energy efficient one and i read in the headlines that there was an independent party up for grabs in an election. Then perhaps there would be some hope in this country, or if i read in the headlines, PEOPLE STAND UP AGAINST THE CASTLE...ERR WHITE HOUSE....might perk me up...otherwise i could care less about who is what in 2008 cause it is politics as usual...

:: sigh ::

Unfortunately, I think there are still quite a few too many racists and sexists in this country for Obama or Clinton to pull it off - which is ultimately why the Democrats won't nominate either one of them.

I see them rallying behind a more mainstream candidate like John Edwards, who polls well against all the top Republican candidates.

McCain and Giuliani are polling pretty well right now - but I expect them to decline further as they are both heavily associated with the Iraq war (McCain as a political supporter, Giuliani as head of a civilian contractor who made a lot of money running Iraqi security operations).

I don't know if we will have our first Female-American or African-American president (does anybody remember when we were all just Americans?) or for that matter our first Cocker Spaniel-American First Pet. But I can say that the war in Iraq will not be ended by this President. Right, wrong or indifferent, he will not end the war now, he would lose too much face.

However, I have heard that there is a new Presidential candidate. We could have our first Multigendered-American as President if he, or rather she, or rather...whatever it is, is elected.

Probably Giuliani-Romney.

They will make being gay illegal, abolish Affirmative Action, continue abusing brown-skinned immigrants, and actively promote a racial war in America.

They may finally get it.
