They were all based on misinformation and largely phony. Though each starts with a grain of truth, each has been hijacked to becomes campaigns for the benefit of someone who wishes to profit from it. And the US was involved in each one, which should give people some pause. Follow the money is always good advice, and in each one of these it is especially true.
speaking of follow the money, look at this: http://www.freedom.org/naugreen2/player.html

The Cold War, War on Drugs, and the War On Terror have ABSOLUTELY NOTHING IN COMMON! Here's why.....
1. The cold war is a term given to high tensions between the USA and the USSR over a 40 year period. Thanks to President Reagan, the US lured the USSR into an arms race he knew they couldn't afford. And by 1990 the USSR was bankrupt, beaten, and it's economy in shambles. Reagan won the cold war and defeated the USSR without firing a shot!
2. The war on drugs is a losing battle. This country WASTES $100 billion a year trying to prevent Americans from smoking pot, snorting coke, and dropping ecstasy while advertising on national TV that it's okay to drink beer and alcohol. No victim = no crime, so I fail to see why we WASTE money on treating drug users like criminals while alcoholics and cigarette smokers enjoy the same freedoms as everybody else.
3. The War On Terror is long over due. Islamic terrorists have been at war with this country since the hostages were taken in Iran all the way through the attacks of 911. In that span over 6500 Americans were murdered in over 27 different attacks and hijackings! So it's about time that this country declared war on terrorists instead of treating them like common criminals.
That help clear things up for ya???

How 'bout this. The Cold War was a poker match trying to play the best cards. Whoever won, could either call or unleash a deadly assault of weaponry to the opponent.
The war on drugs and the war on terror have only brought one thing...More of each. That and the war on terror is a fraud. Look it up.

Well I can tell you about the link between the cold war and the war on terror. I think I would have to stick my neck out to link all three.

all are broad, global and (seemingly?) unwinable. It is said that the US won the Cold War but I think it is more accurate to say that the USSR lost.
To me, they all fall under the category of "phantom menace". The enemy exist everywhere... or so it is believed.

We have only won one. We won the Cold War because we took on evil, which is the only way to win any of these.
Appeasing the enemy does not work.
Being soft on people does not work.
Toughness and violence and enforcement is the cure.

the war
The only two words common in all three.
The last one has been PC it is War on radical Muslims.
It is the one who is killing people at alarming rate, but liberals don't care.
