How about if the United States KEEPS the $50 billion a year we just give away in foreign aid? How about if you call the United Nations instead of the United States the next time your country is hit with a tsunami, flood, earthquake, volcano, or if somebody invades you? How about if you figure out your own way to feed your own people and deal with disease epidemics on your own? How about if we shut down ALL military bases worldwide, cut all military support and funding, and how about if you ALL fend for yourselves from now on? How would that be?
Am I the only one that thinks that maybe the United States needs to quit being world police and start worrying about our own citizens isntead? Sounds like a plan to me! And the next time a Hitler or a Stalin or a Hussein threatens your country, we'll keep our nose out of YOUR business! WE PROMISE!

I think we need to take care of the United States and the issues that face this country and it's citizens first, humanitarian aid is acceptable, but we do need to quit being the world police force and allow people and countries to take care of their own issues as we should take care of ours

I can understand your point of view and I am also angered that there are people in our country who are starving and homeless. Plus, I don't think there is one logical and compassionate person who would disagree that our country has handled our own national disasters *hurricane katrina* horrifically. However, I believe a country of our size and wealth has a moral obligation to help those around the world who are in need. If you don't think that disease and other health epidemics in other counties are any of the US concerns than you more ignorant than the president. Those diseases and epidemics will eventually come here and become our problem. It is a much wiser decision to help treat them overseas. I am applauded by some of your comments. Can you look a starving child in the eye in a third world country and say you don't deserve food and water because you born to a poor country--or better yet a country that insist on keeping their citizens in poverty so they cannot revolt. What a wonderful idea to punish people because they had no control on where they were born.
And while there needs to be more done here in the US for our citizens, cutting aid to undeveloped countries is not the answer. I also think it is naive to think that cutting military spending and shutting down our military bases worldwide would solve the problem of war or our country's historic involvement in conflicts that are unnecessary and unpopular. The only thing that would accomplish is putting innocent people at risk. If you don't believe Hitler and Stalin were a threat to the US, you should take a history class. Maybe a better solution is to VOTE. Let the powers that be know that you don't favor a government that believes they need to police the world. Please think of the implications that your suggestions could have and try a little empathy.

So when another Katrina hits or a huge earthquake hits somewhere California or somewhere else in America who should take care of the costs? In past disasters we received money and assistance of various other sorts from other nations. Perhaps you favor isolationism. Just remember before we got involved in the two great world wars we were isolationist.

The world never ASKED the US to be their police. Maybe the US should do this without being told to? Why does the Radical Right think they need to control what everyone thinks and does?

It would make them all happy then someone would start crying like a little girl and say "I Know instead of dying I'll move to America!!!".In foreign people's hearts they all want to come here but their mouths say a different story.

Good luck waiting for the UN

Let France, Germany, and the rest of our supposed friends to defend themselves

Order the movie at http://www.freedomtofascism.com/ and start inviting people over to watch it. Then contact Congressman Ron Paul at http://www.house.gov/paul/contact.shtml and urge him to run for President. Do this and you will have the truth in the 08 Presidential elections. Do this not and you will lose many freedoms. Please copy this and pass it along.
