What did he do wrong? Saddam Hussein WAS trying to get WMDs, so invading Iraq was probably a good thing. He tortured terrorists, which is good. So what has he done wrong? So whatever he has done wrong, shouldn't we rally to support him instead of defeating him at home and doing the terrorists' job?

The British government control the way the BBC is run, appointing the management which is clearly going to be anxious not to displease their masters.
Isn't it time that the licence fee payer was given the right to elect the BBC management and for the BBC to be made totally independent of government?

As if they dont have enough problems there already. When is Bush going to stop? The first stable looking regime is already under attack. How much war mongering can the good American people take?

The era of the Middle East strongman, propped up by and enforcing Western policy, appears well and truly over. His power is being replaced with rule by civil war, apparently now the American Administration’s favoured model across the region.

Fratricidal fighting is threatening to engulf, or already engulfing, the occupied Palestinian territories, Lebanon and Iraq. Both Syria and Iran could soon be next, torn apart by attacks Israel is reportedly planning on behalf of the US. The reverberations would likely consume the region.

Western politicians like to portray civil war as a consequence of the West’s failure to intervene more effectively in the Middle East. Were we more engaged in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, or more aggressive in opposing Syrian manipulations in Lebanon, or more hands-on in Iraq, the sectarian fighting could be prevented. The implication being, of course, that, without the West’s benevolent guidance, Arab societies are incapable of dragging themselves out of their primal state of barbarity.

But in fact, each of these breakdowns of social order appears to have been engineered either by the United States or by Israel. In Palestine, Lebanon and Iraq, sectarian difference is less important than a clash of political ideologies and interests as rival factions disagree about whether to submit to, or resist, American and Israeli interference. Where the factions derive their funding and legitimacy from -- increasingly a choice between the US or Iran -- seems to determine where they stand in this confrontation.

There's no question that their government (republicans or democrats) are a bunch of liars who don't care what their countrymen want. They don't care that the American people don't want the Iraq War. They don't care that American soldiers are being killed in the name of oil. They don't care about the welfare of sovereign countries including allied nations.

It might be a little early to start researching candidates already but then again not really! Anyway it seems to me that the top contenders for Democrats are Junior Senators Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton and for Republicans its most likely to be between Senior Senator John McCain and former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani. Hate me all you want but because I'm a huge liberal, I'm already going to exclude McCain because the last thing I want again is another conservative president like Bush who pretty much wants to limit freedoms that conflict with his "Christian values" lol which is kind of hypocritical when you think about it knowing that he delcared war in Iraq and thousands of both Americans and innocent Iraqi civilians died due to his decisions. Opps! Sorry I'm rambling but anyway whether conservatve, liberal, moderate , 3rd Party , communist, I don't care! If you have a favorite candidate for president in 08' please tell me and let me know why you want that person. Thanks!

thousand camel jockeys in Iraq?

If Bush allowed the US military to use it's full force the war would have been over 2 years ago. No military can win a "limited war" like the one the US is fighting in Iraq and there is no reason for the US to cut & run because it can win RIGHT NOW (without having to send more troops) by using all the weapons in it's arsenal. So how about it Bush, let's see how tough you are & do what even the wimpy liberal Presidents have done by using the full force of the US military. The US taxpayers paid for all the stuff & they want to see a US victory in Iraq. So show some courage, save your Presidency and be a winner not a loser by using everything you got (except Nukes).

President Bush is pursuing a globalist agenda to create a North American Union, effectively erasing our borders with both Mexico and Canada. This was the hidden agenda behind the Bush administration's true open borders policy.

Secretly, the Bush administration is pursuing a policy to expand NAFTA politically, setting the stage for a North American Union designed to encompass the U.S., Canada, and Mexico. What the Bush administration truly wants is the free, unimpeded movement of people across open borders with Mexico and Canada.
