They receive 200K (50% of presidents pay) a year plus expenses for an office from the US treasury
Secret Service agents protect them and their families
Many also receive pay from other sources

I watched the View today. Clinton said nice things about Romney because he was being asked about the current crop of Republic candidates for president. The View is very much about what's happening now, who just got booted off Dancing With the Stars, what's playing on Broadway, etc. Right now, what's happening in national politics is Republicans debating again and again. Obama is running unopposed. There are no Democratic debates. So they asked Clinton who he liked among the Republicans and he answered.

We pay them. Stipend for life plus security and certain rights to funds to preserve their 'libraries' etc.

You know, it might be a lot more cost effective to outsource the Presidency and Congress. I bet we could find people in India and China to do it for a lot cheaper, and the funds would trickle down to the taxpayer.

I think we should definitely look into it.

We pay them. It's a retirement of sorts, then they are also supplementing their pay with the lecture circuit.
