Alright. You will now be owned by another person who will do with you whatever they want. They order you to work 20 hours a day - you damn well do it. They order you live in a pit of raw sewage - you do it. They order you to beat yourself to death with a plank with rusty nails in it - you do it. If you do not do these things you will be whipped until the skin is hanging off your back, and then you will have vinegar and salt thrown on your wounds. If you still do not comply you will be hanged - not until dead, just until you're sorry. Of course if you STILL continue to disobey then you will be killed. Your life is cheap.
You would no longer be human, you would be a tool - an implement of another person's will. If you love slavery so much perhaps you should try it from the slaves perspective.

Well the problem with slavery and really any system where the workforce is overworked and underappreciated is productivity. George Washington himself wrote on a trip to Philadelphia that it took only a week for a group of seven men to do a task that would employ all his slaves for months. Even if you beat someone they wont work any faster than they feel like, it comes to appreciation. Everyone wants to feel like theyre appreciated and make a difference in the world.

I should probably not even take the time to respond to this, but every fiber of my being says - yes! You must. It seems that several of the Yahoo Community think you are joking - and I would still be appalled to believe that someone could be so insensitive as to not think about what they are saying that might be insightful and hurtful to others, that they would even include this in a joking manner. I am intelligent enough not to respond to this in anger, but in the necessity of communication and hoping to thwart ignorance. As an African American and a teacher, I am compelled to teach truth and honesty and what is good and right to all my students - and there are many cultures of students involved. I sincerely pray that someone will lead you to great writers of books, and people of color who have experienced such atrocities in their life time so that you can understand just what slavery has done. And to be honest, it's not just about 'color' in this generation. Today, we have representatives such as yourself, deeply en consed in slavery of their "minds" when they believe that such a feat, such an act would ever be acceptable in this country ever again. Please do not allow ignorance to enslave your mind and way of thinking. It is not only damaging, but it is dangerous.

Do you want to do a lifetime of work for free? Didn't think so. Machines are the slaves of this era.

Okay, if that's the way you feel, you can be the slave. How would you feel? I think that was the stupidest question ever asked! People are not property, they have feelings and emotions.

So who exactly would you enslave? I think what you think is great is that your mother still folds your clothes and cooks for you.
