You really have no idea what is going on in Venezuela... if you really think that BS I cordially invite you to visit this country and take a short trip to every hospital in Caracas.

God forbid you have an accident or you're shot because you're wearing Nike sneakers... you will have to count on someone to run to the nearest pharmacy to get cotton and alcohol for you... because even that is missing from any freaking hospital!!

Chavez is helping any country he can buy favors from... the only one he's leaving out of the loop is his own. Poor people here are even poorer than before while the income from oil sales reaches its highest point.

The country has more money than ever... yet that money is not staying... is going to Cuba in free gasoline and refined oil. We hired thousand of cuban doctors leaving our own doctors driving taxis and unemployed.

We now have one of the best airports in southamerica... but you will be robbed and probably shot (mostly if you look "too american") as soon as you step out of the airport.

If you have money and manage a company, your best chance to make it (alive) is to have a bullet proof car... otherwise, get a really high life insurance and pray for your end to be quick and painless.

If you think we don't have homeless people, you definitely have never been here. I still cannot eat at any McDonalds without giving the rest of my food to any of the homeless standing outside waiting for anybody to walk with something for them. It's a fact of life, we live with that and we think it's normal... but it's not.

Chavez is not doing anything more or less than any other corrupted president did in Venezuela... the only thing he's doing different is to steal more (because now we have more to steal from) and pay more favors to other countries and to all the coward military officials who defend his position. Otherwise he would have been out of there long time ago.

Its good intentions yes, but Venezuela's budget can it afford to do that. I think Chavez economics will harm the economy, and require a massive overhaul of government policy. First, taking people property without legal purpose, and trying redistribute land from productive people to unproductive is economic suicide. Second, Chavez should wean the country economic prospects off oil, and start to tax its own citizen across the board, and loosen up control of the oil companies. Third, statism as a economic policy leads to bad economic outcomes, and protected economies produce shoddy products for quick profits, and the money is never used to increase production or improve quality. Forth, the spending Chavez has done really nothing for the poor really to produce jobs that bring added value to the economy.

Finally, Chavez policies were tried in Mexico in the 1970s that led to massive debt, and the government had no choice but to devalue the currency, and tightened up credit because spending exceeded saving up for economic downturns.

Who did he take the money from?

No, in itself that is certainly not bad.

Just because he hates Bush and Americans doesn't mean he is an enemy of ALL people. Good for him.
