It was the US and Rumsfeld who supplied and supported Saddam in the 1980's, even when he was using chemical weapons. http://www.washingtonpost.com/ac2/wp-dyn/A52241-2002Dec29?language=printer
The US supported Saddam when he oppressed his own people, and when he attacked Iran.
At the end of the first Gulf War Bush Sr. encouraged the Kurds and Shiites to rise up against Saddam, only to then sit back and watch as they cried out for our help when Saddam crushed all who did so. http://www.tbsjournal.com/Cull.html
Now we have removed Saddam's party from power, exposing them to the violence and retaliation of those they harmed when in power, and we are having their leader Saddam hanged for all Iraq to see.
I believe the United States has now successfully betrayed every major group in Iraq.
Do you suppose there is anyone left in Iraq, or the region, who trusts the United States?
Should we be surprised when they fight us door to door and want us to leave?
What can we do now?

Francis Bellamy, the author of the original pledge (which did not include 'Under God') was a registered Christian Socialist. Then the 'Under God' part was added by the McCarthy crusades in the 1950s.

So we have a pledge, written by a socialist and amended by a fascist. Why bother with it?

You Libs are really grabbing at straws from blaming the president on the hurricanes to the 911 attacks. Whenever there is a wrong in this world you libs need to put a Republican up front to mask the real bad things that go on - in my opinion.

Why is it that America is filling its prisons with people for drug crimes. Why are they not helping these people and rehabilitate, and reforming the drug laws. Is It easier to just lock them up nice, and neat? Or do they just make to much money off of "The war on drugs"? If we as tax payers are supporting the upkeep of prisoners shouldnt we have a say in whom we inprison? Honestly you do more time for getting caught with a bag of dope than for killing someone. Or so it seams. Does anyone even care? Im just tired of seeing young people thrown into prison for a problem that belongs to this entire country, and not just to them. To many lives and families ruined, and just locking people up only makes it worse. It only treates the symptoms,It dosn't cure the disease. What do you think?

There are no more Abraham Lincolns or Martin Luther Kings, so what will it take for Americans to wake up and take their country back and make it what it once used to be?

we've spent billions on this war when we could have been spending it on ending our dependence on foreign oil and the funding of terrorist organizations.

wouldn't battery operated cars be more feasible in the future than ethanol and cheaper than hybrids. even if they only go about 35 mph wouldn't it be worth it to help stop global warming. they would also prevent many highway fatalities and bring auto insurance to an all time low.

..the pope's top prelate for justice say's "capital punishment goes against the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church." If so, why is it that republicans claim to be so religious and then go against the church’s teachings? Here is the breakdown by executed persons in 2005 and the political majority color by votes in the 2004 presidential election

19 in Texas(RED state)
5 each in Indiana(RED state)
Missouri(RED state)
North Carolina(RED state)
4 each in Ohio(RED state)
Alabama(RED state)
Oklahoma(RED state)
3 each in Georgia(RED state)
South Carolina(RED state)
2 in California(BLUE state)
1 each in Connecticut(BLUE state)
Arkansas(RED state)
Delaware(BLUE state)
Florida(RED state)
Maryland(BLUE state)
Mississippi(RED state)

Red states account for 55 of the 60 execution killings in 2005..

is a bigger mess than Iraq? Obesity is the major cause of almost every major disease that kill Americans including heart attacks, strokes, diabetes, & many cancers and the US healthcare system cannot handle so many fat/diseased Americans. How about this, anyone 15 or more lbs over their normal weight doesn't get any public/govt. healthcare? Gym Stocks would skyrocket & US healthcare would no longer be a major problem.
