We are about two hours away from Saddams lawful execution. He has been tried by Islamic law and facing his punishment. Do you think the Iraqi government should start executions more on grounds of the murdering insurgence? Seems to me the only way to rid this is with some lawful force of the sort. What do you think?

Does the kid born in the ghetto, with a mom that's addicted to drugs, with no dad and goes every now and then to a school with books from the 1950s and teachers worried about their lives... with no real social training (as simple as knowing what not to do in public)... or any decent clothes... or anyone that cares about them...

have the same chance as other Americans?

If that doesn’t shock you does the fact that that is equal to the entire population of CANADA. Can we justify the spending of 2 billion dollars a day in IRAQ when this exists in our own back yard. Can you justify government passing laws which promote jobs leaving our country when this exists. Can you justify Government that doesn’t penalize contractors for hiring illegals. Can you justify electing a party that places its priority on making more money for the rich than it does getting the poor back into the middle class. Republicans like to act like they are not the cause… that everybody has opportunity in our country. But facts like these speack for themselves. Katrina didn’t create poverty… it just brought it to the surface. These are the issues that are important to all Americans. Do you agree? Do you disagree? What’s your opinion?

Is real progress in the region possible while fundamentalist clerics are making all the real decisions? Is true integration with the global community possible while they cling so desperately to Sharia (Islamic Law?)

If so, how does a nation break the hold of religion on a largely uneducated population?

I am in the midst of relentless severe cold and snow in Colorado; another blizzard and I can't work or do anything. This does not make sense. The winter weather used to be great in years past, commonly in the 50's/60's in January in S. Colorado. But now this incredible cold week after week. Why is it so cold when Al Gore promised the world Global warming is absolutely here?
I really enjoy the internet he invented but am dismayed the reverse global freezing seems to be happening. Is anyone else feeling this?

Asking apropos of a letter to the editor in today's 'National Post.' I grant that the 'National Post' gets some rather unfortunate readers/letter-writers. Just wondering what, if anything, might be behind that.

At the last count their populations were:
Scotland approx 5 million
Wales approx 3 million

or, would the English taxpayer (approx 50 million) have to subsidise them.

Now, fight over that.

The crimes, for which Saddam has been sentenced to death, are just a drop in the bloody ocean of his brutal dictatorship. Saddam’s slaughter of the Kurds and his use of chemical & biological WMD against Iranian civilians & Iraqi rebels were a result of American collusion

American support, military intelligence, finance & weapons technology all led to the slaughter under Saddam’s most active campaigns.

Up to 300,000 people died thanks to US support. That’s almost half the number killed by the current US/UK illegal war. Currently estimated to be 655,000 deaths!!

Yes, he’s evil, guilty of mass murder & deserves whatever he gets. But real justice has been denied to the relatives of those murdered by US/Saddam actions. Saddam will not be forced to explain the mass graves in Iraq, because America helped fill them up.

Can this US manipulated, puppet trial, for only a fraction of Saddam’s murders, be taken seriously?

Is Saddam being rushed to death to cover-up American collusion?
