I have looked at both sides over and over again, but I'm just glad I can see the facts. As for what facts others are viewing that remains unclear to me! I can honestly say nothing and no one will or can influence my political views but the facts. If it barks like a dog it's a DOG.

I think that people are more inclined to write answers or comments that don't consider the other side, but it is what happens in their minds after they get off the computer that matters. You may never know what effect a comment on this forum might have on a person after they've read it. May make someone actually think!

I don't think my views have been changed, just strengthened, but I do use the questions and answers to look at different points of views (except the strange extremist views...I ignore them). It helps to either cement or erode personal beliefs. If I see something that makes me curious, I'll go check out the facts elsewhere.

Sometimes you DO find very interesting perspectives here, other times; ignorant junk. I wade through that stuff for things that might inspire me.

I'm a moderate Independent who was posting here way before the mid-terms. I tend to like the Repubs economics and generally agree with the Dems on social issues. But yes, I have been influenced by the incessant bashing I've seen in this forum by Republicans toward Democrats. Yes, they both do it, but the Republicans seem nastier in general overall. It's become tiresome and ridiculous that anyone who disagrees with Bush's policies or the far right conservatives' opinion is automatically labeled a liberal. Blind allegiance without independent thought seems to be their mainstay. And if you disagree you're everything from a liberal to a coward who loves terrorists. Bush's War, the Republican Party's bashing tactics and general holier-than-thou attitude definitely influenced me to vote a straight Democratic ticket in the mid-terms, and I have voted Republican many times in my life. After the experience of Bush and the current crop of over-the-top far right nutjobs, I don't know if I will ever do so again.

I have not changed my mind because of anything on YA, I have changed my mind by reading Newsweek or Time magazine or some of the better political shows on television--NOT Fox news!

I guess the one view that has changed for me is Republican does not always mean Bush supporter.

I've become more conservative because of the crap I've seen from the other side. I used to be much more of a moderate. Now I'm considering becoming a Republican, scary thought.

I actually have. Not so much that I changed, but more like I fine-tuned.
