So we in the UK are the most spied upon nation other than COMMUNIST China!

Doesn’t that just give you a warm cosy feeling inside?

All those CCTV cameras, speed cameras, biometric passports, biometric ID cards to come, spying computers in our cars to come and for what?
The DNA data bank is an infringement of civil liberties.

All the data that is collected EVERY day from shops through “LOYALTY” cards, internet sites that you have to “register” with to be able to buy anything.

Even the details of you car and your driver details with the DVLA.

All the information gathered can and will be SOLD on to others.

I don’t feel any safer today because of all this Big Brother rubbish.

In fact ID theft has been made a whole lot easier becaue of it!

What are your thoughts?

I don't really care which party they are coming from, they are all 8 1/2" x 11" and are of a heavier paper stock. I'm tried to this crap cluttering my mailbox every single day. Every day, there is at least one alerting me to not vote for Stender the Spender. Not sure who Stender is, but, enough already. Every day there is at least one, in addition to whatever other political flier some group has sent.
I just want to take the 9 or so fliers that have piled up since Monday, write Refused, Return to Sender on them, and dump them in the blue mail box down the street.

The EU expansion has seen 600,000 migrants come to Britain from Eastern Europe, and more are set to come. However, many do not seem interested in intergration, or Britain in general, just in earning pounds.
I think to encourage intergration, migrants to the UK should have to write 2000 word essays about the importance of the Ashes, and other British cultural institutions to help preserve British culture. Who agrees?

Seem to be the stupidest when it comes to life matters? Yet they swear they KNOW the answers to everything. Especially in politics..

I hope there are serious answers to this, but I know we will get the typical: Bush is a lier, or Clinton is a nympho. Seriously though shouldnt we, both sides of the political aisle, respect the office of the president no matter who holds it? Why should a 16 yr old be able to get an abortion, which is a medical procedure, without her parents' consent if she is unable by law to consent to sex?
A 16 yr old cannot even get stitches in the ER without parents' consent. Tell me why you think an abortion is ok but sex (consent) is not. I'm not against the abortion idea, I just don't like the mixed message that our society & legal system is putting out there. If an 18 yr old guy can go to jail for sex with a 17 yr old girl (when it is consentual) shouldn't the 17 yr old girl be treated as a law breaker also?

the polar icecaps melting cause sea levels to rise?? It should be the exact opposite. If you freeze a bottle of water it expands.
Just would like to know where the global warming crowd is coming from on this.
I believe in localized warming caused by concrete, blacktop, lack of trees etc, but global??? In any realistic view they cannot accurately predict weather patterns from year to year. What makes me think they can predict what the earth will do in 50 years? There are a vast number of variables to be factored in.
But I would like to know about the ice.
Any takers with real knowledge???

I really don't trust any police officer who has a beer gut and is 50+ lbs overweight. I've watched cops and I've seen police around here - some are in good physical shape and others are complete blobs.

I just don't understand why people think it's all right for a police officer to be, for lack of a better term, fat. Can they jump over fences or run for a long distance better than someone who was fit? No..

I've heard that lately this PC thing doesn't only apply to law enforcement officers, but the military as well. Why don't they have strict physical fitness in place?

If someone is going to "protect and serve" us - why don't they become fit?? Why is our government allowing people to slack off like this?

** I have NOTHING against "overweight" people in general. But I do have a problem with those in authority to protect us who are incapable of doing the things a FIT person could do.
