How long does it take to get a SSCard?

you make out the required paper work and it is sent to you. It shouldn't take longer than 10-12 days, but then again who is to say how fast the governement responds to your request? I once had a request taken care of IMMEDIATELY and I fainted dead away.

No, you don't get it right away. You can call the toll free number several days after application and they can give you the number over the phone...but you'll have to wait a few weeks before you receive the physical card.
At least this is how it was 5 or 6 years ago.

You can get your ss card at any ss office. Bring your birth certificate, your drivers license, & proof you are legal if not born here.You can also call a 800# & do it over the phone. Ti takes about 14 days to recieve your card in the mail.

you can't get right away because they have to verify all the information needed. It takes 3 weeks and mailed.

post office and if you in tx workforce center have the forms. and they have to be sent out. you can only have 10 cards in your life time!
