Did we not invade Iran after 9/11 because the hijackers and Bin Laden were Sunni Arabs? Is it stupid to attack Shiite Persians in Iran?

Former House Majority Leader Dick Armey (R-TX): On the October 31 edition of MSNBC's Hardball, Armey said of the attacks on Kerry's remarks, "Well, it's pretty standard fare in political discourse. You misconstrue what somebody said. You isolate a statement, you lend your interpretation to it and then feign moral outrage." When host Chris Matthews stated that Kerry "was trashing Bush," Armey responded, "Right," and went on to say, "A fundamental premise of politics is we can make this work if people just never figure it out."

I've been wondering, after watching a couple of campaign appearances, where the President gets his shirts, suits, etc. I can't imagine you have to take the motorcade over to Macy's, but I also doubt that it would look good for the leader of the free world to be wearing anything overly designer-ish or fashionable. The real question is, if I like a shirt he's wearing, can I go to the mall and get it? Does anyone actually know about this?

Since I received so many stinging answers to my question that asked if you had signed the petition that was being circulated to investigate and indict Kerry, I thought this was a worthwhile follow up.::::::::::::::::::::::::::::Ponder...
In case we find ourselves starting to believe all the anti-American sentiment and negativity,
we should remember England's Prime Minister Tony Blair's words during a recent interview.
When asked by one of his Parliament members why he believes so much in America, he said:
"A simple way to take measure of a country is to look at how many want in ...
and how many want out." Only two defining forces have ever offered to die for you:
1. Jesus Christ 2. The American G. I.

One died for your soul, the other for your freedom.

or at best misleading?
Most of their info on unemployment is drawn from people receiving unemployment benefits in their states. Many people never QUALIFY for these benefits or as in Texas the former employer can actually BLOCK a person from receiving these benefits. Also if you do not find a job before the benefits run out, you are no longer considered unemployed - you are "no longer in the job market".

Unemployment figures sited by conservatives are FALSE.

Has anybody in Yahooland moved from the unemployed count to the false "no longer seeking employment" count?

Margaret Beckett serves as the British Foreign Secretary. This is ranked as one of the top 3 jobs in the British Government.

Can anyone tell me what skills she brings to this position? She can't seem to give a straight answer to any question, is too afraid to say anything without Blair's approval and looks out of her depth.

For example, when Israel invaded Lebanon, it was her role to represent Britain and try to resolve the conflict to stop the mass killing. What did she do? She took her caravan to France and had a vacation.

She also looks a mess - she's the worst dressed person in the world. It all adds to the bad impression.

Am I being harsh, or should we expect more from someone with a fully expensed chauffeured car, a free grace & favour home fully paid for by us, a large salary & six figure expenses account?

Your views please..........

I've recently read an article that asked Londoners to "take part in the largest demonstration of People Power that London has ever seen". The demonstration asks for citizens to turn of lights in an event that could be seen from space. However, it also asks us to 'defrost our fridges', 'turn down heating' and unplug electrical appliences - why!?

I've never come accross an event like this and am trully baffled by its purpose. Sure, energy saving is big right now but why for on day? I suggest power is needed somewhere for something and this is a way of using this power without a majority noticing anything.

Other dates suggest such plan - try these links:

Has freedom of expression been tossed into the trashbin of American history? Do Americans no longer dare express disapproval of whoever temporarily fills the office of president? Do you wonder how many other unemployed Americans became that way because of presidential power plays?

It happened in the State of Washington, and you can find the story on the Drudge Report website.

Why is it that a honest, hardworking american seeking gainful employment must be subjected to the humilation of peeing in a cup to prove to be drug-free but the government has no problem handing millions and millions of dollars to "dopeheads" who cannot or will not hold down even the simplest of jobs? I believer welfare receipients should have to prove to be DRUG-FREE in order to qualify for government aid. Whose with me???

Should we encourage Iraq to split up, It seems to work for the India and Pakistan?
I understand that the Turkish government really doesn't like the idea because they don't want to encourage Turkish Kurds who want an independet state. Is this correct?
What is the feeling of Turkey's general population?
What would be Turkey's response if this happened?

I would be particularly interested in responses from Iraqis, Turks and Kurds.

I work at a market research company and I call hundreds and hundreds of people and do political surveys. I've noticed a HUGE difference between Democrats and Republicans.
I'm not a political person, I don't follow politics, so this is just an honest question.

Why is it that democrats are more likely to vote for the person based on what the person has to say, and what they believe.. While on the other hand, republicans seem to vote republican no matter what, even if they don't know the issues or what the person stands for, they just vote republican.
You wouldn't believe how many people I've heard southern republicans say "I support bush and I think he's the best president ever, I vote straight republican no matter what!"

Why???

Why are republicans so downright stubborn and blind?
