Former House Majority Leader Dick Armey (R-TX): On the October 31 edition of MSNBC's Hardball, Armey said of the attacks on Kerry's remarks, "Well, it's pretty standard fare in political discourse. You misconstrue what somebody said. You isolate a statement, you lend your interpretation to it and then feign moral outrage." When host Chris Matthews stated that Kerry "was trashing Bush," Armey responded, "Right," and went on to say, "A fundamental premise of politics is we can make this work if people just never figure it out."

It's completely true. Ironically, Kerry trashes Bush for being inarticulate, but yet he can't even deliver a pre-written speech. Kerry trashes Bush for being partisan and not respecting the views of other people but yet Kerry (who got worse grades than Bush at Yale) is out there calling Bush an "idiot."

Both parties are screwed. They're yellling at each other for not reaching across party lines. Yet the punish people like Arlen Specter and Joseph Lieberman who do.

It's not about policy. It's about power. That's it. The problem is that once one party gets power, they don't know what to do with it.

I didn't like Gingrich personally, but I'll say this. He knew what he wanted to do before he got power. When he was done, he quit and gave up the power. Whether I agree with his plan, I respect his approach.

Well, mainly because anyone with an IQ above a greapefruit inherently knows that what Armey says is true. Unfortunately, there will be a lot of grapefruits voting on Tuesday....

This is something you will never find a Democrat do. Be honest about how politics really works in Washington. Next time you should print some of Bush's comments about the horrible way things work there.

Perhaps because they haven't heard it (I hadn't). Armey does have something of a point, albeit not a particularly important one.

That depends on exactly what the defination of "is" is. Kerry made a bad mistake, that's why his liberal friends are vanishing.
