how can we detect explosive or gunpowder ?

Hello to every body like the peace and want it to all of the world, my quest is how can we detect the explosives or the gunpowder, i need that to write and report to safe my country from the terrorists, i know there are many types of explosive so sure there are many way to detect depend on its components, and thats what i am searching for to do my research, if u can help me to do that plz do that because u serve all of the world, the really thing what i need is the detection devices and how can its work, after that maybe i can contact u to buy or make a tender for that. so be cool to answer any thing can help me . thnx

When I worked at TSA they could see in the x-ray the chemical compound of certain things it would turn a bright green or orange under the x-ray light.
We had a man come threw the terminal who worked in an explosives factory that had to carry a card with him every time he traveled because no matter how hard he cleaned his clothes he couldn't get the compounds off his clothes hair or anything he touched. Sorry to reply in an old thread but as the person lives in my country and any one can read this question even nowadays so I want to reply. Explosives can be detected with the help of Dogs(Mostly Labrador because they have excellent sense of smell) and also with some gadgets which can detect explosives(sensors like metal detectors but instead of metal they are used for explosives, gunpowder etc)

most explosives are derived from nitration and can be detected by sniffers ...but i dont know the actual process involved ...
