So we in the UK are the most spied upon nation other than COMMUNIST China!

Doesn’t that just give you a warm cosy feeling inside?

All those CCTV cameras, speed cameras, biometric passports, biometric ID cards to come, spying computers in our cars to come and for what?
The DNA data bank is an infringement of civil liberties.

All the data that is collected EVERY day from shops through “LOYALTY” cards, internet sites that you have to “register” with to be able to buy anything.

Even the details of you car and your driver details with the DVLA.

All the information gathered can and will be SOLD on to others.

I don’t feel any safer today because of all this Big Brother rubbish.

In fact ID theft has been made a whole lot easier becaue of it!

What are your thoughts?

That's why British have become so paranoiac!!! I could not first understand George Orwell in his first book "animals farm" but he made himself clear in "1984".
It's really sad how technology becomes satanic in the hands of insane greedy politicians. Between us: we don't have a better situation in Iran! I guess this disease is contagious.

Is it such a bad thing that we are spied on the most, CCTV cameras have reduced crime and help to prosecute criminals, speed cameras reduce acidents and also bring in revenue to make the roads safer!

The goverment is trying to make our country safer, in an over populated island, these schemes are there to protect the common person, not to destroy there civil liberties, but to deter and capture criminals and terrorists.

I feel safer knowing that there are cameras watching the law abiding, as for people on there soap box about the goverment watching us, what are you afraid off unless you are breaking the law!

I think the sooner we have a ID card that has to carried by all adults, like on the continent, we will reduce illegal immigrants, and ID crime with a biometric system.

The goverment is tryng to protect us not spy on us!

I 'm not so concerned about CCTV cameras in town centres if they help to reduce crime.
(Very few are monitored live by the way )
But,I agree entirely with your concerns about data being accumulated from a variety of sources , i.e,government forms, credit card applications, mortgage applications, medical records, internet profile.
Join it up and "THEY" have" YOU".Then, more junk mail and
Government prying!
This is more to do with marketing and taxation rather than counter terrorism.

Become like "Mole Man," and hide.

Yadda yaddah.

What you going to do about it? That's more interesting to me.

I've heard and read this sort of thing, and frankly, I don't see many people creative enough to come up with constructive solutions. Just a bunch of whiners.

Stand up and rebel. Fight the system. Fight for your freedom. Think clearly, act, and coordinate action to resolve these problems.

So what? If you've got no guilty secrets, no skeletons in the closet and are a law abiding citizen, then what's the problem? I worry more about the kind of people who object to this...especially the ones spouting off about 'civil liberties' Perhaps you're an example of the 'Perfect Human Being' !!

I think it is a good thing and I am all for it. How ever I don't think that works, and the reason for this is because of do gooders like you!!! Just maybe 1 terrorist attack could be prevented due to the "Big Brother" situation, would it be worth it then? Maybe it would be 1 of your family members who was saved, if so I don't think you would be complaining about it then.
