Many so called liberals claim to be for free..and will defend something they approve of very strong..but when it comes to something they don't like such as christian creationists, or muslim burka..they wish to ban it.
If they beleive in freedom and are against discrimnation why are they so selective in their causes...

I have always been a democrat, perhaps because my father was always a republican. It was a way to distance myself from him, but I have always thought of the democratic party as being for the little guy. It was the democratic party under FDR which got the country moving in a positive direction, although it was WWII that got us out of the depression. Both parties have their halos and warts, which do you prefer and why?

I am so tired of the complex tax structure. The average American can't even think of filling out his own tax forms each year. Should the system be replaced with a flat tax, sales tax, or something else that you can think of?

According to an email from my congressman:
" The House leadership has proposed a
FY2007 Labor-HHS-Education appropriations
bill that would:

*Freeze Title I formula grants,
denying reading and math
instruction to 3.7 million low-
income children;
*Cut the Federal share of special
education funding to 17 percent
(compared to the 40 percent the
Federal government promised to
pay);
*Cut teacher training grants by
$300 million, denying 73,500
teachers the training they need to
meet the "highly qualified"
standard;
*Eliminate education technology
grants that help schools upgrade
computers and Internet
technologies;
*Cut Safe and Drug Free Schools
programs - which help protect our
kids from drugs and violence - by
$40 million; and
*Freeze funding for afterschool
programs, failing to serve 2
million children who have no
supervised place to go after
school."
