I think Benny said it best. Kim wanted the world to think he had a nuke, but "misunderestimated" the West's ability to verify whether an underground explosion was a nuke.

If we think he has nukes, he gets to negotiate from a position of strength. If we call his bluff, he's nothing to us.

They wouldn't fake it. Kim Jong Il is a friggin idiot to announce to the world his intentions and then fail. He has shamed his comrades. He has made a laughing stock of his people and his country. He is a total failure.

If they haven't already, the N.Korean people should string him up the way the Italians did Mussolini, during WWII.

they are being used to test the resolve of the U.S.,and see what the u.n. will do,we now know nothing,that is what the iranians are looking for,n.korea,is not a problem,as far as using a nuke,little kim does not want to die,if china wanted little kim to have nuke they would have it,this is about the iranians to see if they can get away with,making,or buying a nuke to use on,Israel,in the belief that some nut hiding in a well will return.
