The Taliban are still trying to retake Afghanistan and while that's going on - the Military will remain.
Ever see what the Taliban did to common people just because they could? They beat women with clubs, and with people of a different ethnic group.., well.., I seen this poor soul who was literally skinned alive - JUST BECAUSE he was a of a different ethnicity, nothing more. Being a fellow Muslim did not matter.

simply as we never defeated the Taliban and we need to put a lot more money in there that we wasted in unnecessary bush driven war in Iran as we owe Afghanistan a lot as were one of the reasons Russia invaded Afghanistan as we started building bases there.
and there a reason to put money in a country you invade and destroy there infrastructure as if you do not give them back a promise of a postive future, then groups like the Taliban rise up from the ashes
