Many so called liberals claim to be for free..and will defend something they approve of very strong..but when it comes to something they don't like such as christian creationists, or muslim burka..they wish to ban it.
If they beleive in freedom and are against discrimnation why are they so selective in their causes...

We're more used to right wing fascism; but at the other end of the spectrum is left wing fascism. Stalin was also a fascist.
There are 5 steps to fascism;
1) Obey
2) Divide the community into 'us' amd 'them'
3) Give the order 'do them harm'
4) See who refuses and label them 'sympathisers'
5) Exterminate 'them'.

Assimilation is another form of extermination. If you are forced to give up a harmless self identity, you are facing fascism.
If you are trying to force your identity onto others, you are a fascist.
Simple.

Have you ever met a person with liberal views? I bet you haven't.

A "liberal" isn't a type of person, it's a word which sums up their political views. It's not bad, or filled with hate. I swear, some people want to make "liberal" & "nazi" the same. This is funny for two reasons:

1. Liberals have NO extreme views which border anywhere CLOSE to nazi's, and

2. The nazi's were an EXTREMELY conservative group.

People on this site seem to make general inclinations against liberals, and I'm getting sick of it. Doesn't equal rights apply here? People should be treated equally, whether it's because of phyical features or moral beliefs.

And in response your last paragraph, I'll leave you with one thought: Conservatives aren't exactly open to all causes, either. They are very selective, as well.

Looks like the old religious gig going on here. Actually, it's not Liberals who are so big on banning things...that's more of a conservative gig.

We just don't like other people's religious beliefs being forced upon the public.

There are lots of creationist views out there....which shall we choose...the HIndu....the Native American Indian....Judeo-Christian...or how about the Norse mythologies...their creationist views are sort of unique...???

See there's the rub...once you decide to run with religious viewpoints...just which one do you sponsor???

Of course, we live in a free democracy where our freedom of and from religion is protected.

Thank God.

. If you think a liberal is so bad the next time you talk to a conservative ask him/her about their greed And ask them how many thing`s they want to ban. And just be cause i don`t like some thing dose not mean i want to ban it. and Ask Bush how many thing`s he would like to ban because of his greed like fair pay for a hard day`s work ( It is called minimum wage ) just in case you did not know. And ask the conservative how intolerant they are when it come`s to the liberal`s having what they want and what they need. And ask your self if republican`s are any better than the liberal`s. Because the conservative also believe in freedom just has long it dose not interfere with His/Her right`s or greed.

Am I a liberal - probably by your definition. I'm very much for 'live and let live' provided your actions don't affect others.

Do I want to ban things? No - if Muslim women wish to wear veils, that's up to them. If a lady in a veil came to me to discuss some important matter, I might, like Jack Straw, ask if she could take it off.

Christian creationism - I don't want to ban it. It's a misguided silly idea, but I don't want to ban it. Teach it in schools? Fine - in religious studies, but not in science. Why not? Because it's unscientific. I don't want the Periodic Table and Newton's Laws of motion taught in Religious Studies, either.

Just because I don't agree or approve of something, doesn't mean I want to ban it.

Not hypocrites. Liberals don't force you to stop wearing burkas, or to stop believing that God used inteligent design create the universe. They just object when people force it down other people's (their's included) throats. Liberals don't want these things to be the only points of view and who can blame them?

I don't wish to ban anything! It is when you want to screw with MY Constitution that I spent 1 year in a war for, and want to change laws that are clearly unconstitutional, then I am against it!

I don't want you in my bedroom, I don't want you telling other people how to live their lives, and I don't want your fascist religion involved with the government or it's decisions!

If that is being a hypocrite I guess I am!

But then, people like you are against everything unless you benefit!

When you talk to God let me know, otherwise you don't have 1 clue as to what He really wants, do you?

Name one liberal that wants christian creationists or Muslim burkas banned. They may not agree with them, but banned? I don't think so.
