Sure it was Cortez who influenced the natives. But ultimately it was the natives who brought down the oppressive Aztec society. Cortez just provided them leadership and courage to take down the barbaric Aztecs.

I think people like to blame Cortez because he got rich from it. But getting rich from war is a tradition as old as war itself.

My friend lectured me yesterday about sending care packages to troops in Iraq. She said I had no right to do so, and was being a hypocrite, because I do not agree with U.S. policy or the war in Iraq.

Is she right? Can I support the individuals and thank them for their service, while feeling that they should come home today (or better yet, that they never should have been sent)?

Those of you who do support the war effort, please just try to answer the question - I know we disagree and I don't wish to be attacked. Thanks.

One country with WMD is enough to be a World threat for Peace.

He wouldn't help by sending troops to Europe until after the Japs attacked Pearl Harbor? 60% of America supported troop involvement in Europe for months before the PH attack.

Is his stance where the modern Democrats get their ideas of "stay out unless attacked first"?

I mean come on, I have the choice if I want to have sex with someone or not, then i also have the choice to use protection or not (yes, always). I also have the choice of being on some form of birth control.

So why in the heck if I got pregnant for my decisions, should I blame the man? It's not like he mind controlled me into having sex with him, and I obviously didnt want him to "keep it in his pants" if I was having sex with him.

You have 25-30 years of treasionistic employers subverting fair wages to legal citizens while this unpresidented invasion has occured! OUR government is corrupt and you have no leverage or control! Your vote does NOT count plus all the candidate's are seeded from the start. What democracy? Yes i vote but know the level of fraud! I would prefer direct control myself instead of being forced to trust a system that will never be trustworty!

I read in one answer to someones question "Shoot first, talk to the dead later... It works out much better but you would know that if you weren't so naive..." . I am trying to understand this, so if I am afraid from american nuclear politics I should shoot on site, regardles if I kill women or children?
Is that going to make me a terrorist or a patriot for defending my country? What gives me the insurance that U.S. will not attack my country (war is their only diplomatic solution)?

I’m all for equality in the work place.

I’m all for equal rights for both genders.

---BUT---

Lately I’ve noticed women taking this a little too far. I’ve noticed (in the work place and in the home) women believe they should get special privileges or treatment merely for being a woman. I’ve noticed a lot of women who stay at home (while the husband is working and supporting her) thinking it’s not their job to maintain a clean home. They want the man to come home (after a hard day of work) and clean up messes left by both or woman who simply won’t do a job in the work place because “they can’t do it.” Maybe I’m wrong but I feel strongly that if a woman wants a job they should do it (and every aspect of it) as good if not better then a man. Woman use this movement for excuses. They claim it’s not a woman’s job to cook and clean (basically everything pertaining to maintaining a home) therefore they do not do it. Yes, men have responsibilities too---they should help out. I think this movement has turned more in to women thinking they are superior or deserve more then men instead of the original idea of women getting equal rights

I’m so happy that I am liberated and that I can go out and get any career I want--regardless of being female. I’m a SAHM--if my husband was a stay at home dad I’d expect him to do just as much as I do. I just think the roles are being flipped--some women consider themselves better then men instead of equal. What are you feelings on this? Have you ever met a woman along these lines? Thank you for your comments!

When I ask about people on welfare I get told they dont make enough money and minimum wage needs to be raised so people can live, then when I ask about minimum wage being raised and people not getting government help, I get told that they just dont hand out welfare to people who make minimum wage.

Wont you people make up your minds?
