John Witherspoon, signer of the Declaration of Independence:

"He is the best friend to American liberty, who is most sincere and active in promoting true and undefiled religion, and who sets himself with the greatest firmness to bear down profanity and immorality of every kind. Whoever is an avowed enemy of God, I scruple not [do not hesitate] to call him an enemy of his country."

Red Skelton said it best so many years ago. Please click this link and listen to what he said and see if it is as important today as it was then.

My sense is that the urge to hold on to power over came the sense of duty and responsibility to the nation and their office. Ronald Reagan would have been ashamed of Ney, DeLay, Cunningham, Foley, and Hastert to name a few. This is not the crowd that offered a Contract for America in 1994. Where is the fiscal conservatism on spending ? Where is the bi partisan vision ? If they can be voted out, don't they have themselves to blame ? I would trade a number of them for Dick Army ( sp ? ) or Barry Goldwater any day. Even Nixon was better than Bush.
At least he was smarter.

With a general perusal of this site and any research into the state of education in the US it is obvious that the educational system is turning out a large percentage of functional illiterates.

So why shouldn't this country go to a full voucher system. Do away with tenure and let failing schools close.

Are you teachers really more interested in job security and union benefits than the education of the children of this country?

Are you really so insecure in your own abilities that you are afraid to have your performance be reviewed honestly and your compensation be in line with your accomplishments?

Would you go to a "tenured" physician, one that could not be held accountable for any mistake or negligence?

Sorry but I am absolutely disgusted with our local school districts and they don't appear to be any different than districts throughout this country.

The teachers will not return phone calls or attend meetings with parents. They just whine and cry in the media.

Don't assume that just because some of us support the War in Iraq, that we like war. And we won't assume just because some of you support abortion, that you like dead babies.

Can we agree on this?

Because I'm pretty sick of hearing both of these things.

Whenever one critisizes the current administrations policies in Iraq or elsewhere one gets negative remarks from people whose only military experience is with video games. I, like John Murtha, have seen young Marines killed in combat. He has been accused of being a coward by those who have never served such as Mr.(I have never seen a Vietnam War deferment I didn't like, Dick Cheney.) Dick Cheney just went on the offense, blasting people like Murtha as being in favor of cutting and running. Can't we just air drop Cheney, Tony Snow, Ann Coulter and right wing talk show hosts into Iraq? How proud they would make us. Murtha was a hawk who saw too many dead and maimed troops coming home in an ill chosen conflict. Cheney and Bush never served, and seldom visit. Bush was a better cheerleader than a pilot.

human rights policy, and still abuses women. Bin Ladden still funnels money through Saudi banks, why haven't we put our military boots up their butts? By allowing them to attack us during 911 and doing nothing aren't we sending mixed messages to the countries of the middle east?

I mean come on, they're OK... To me it's like they're popular because they're popular. People act like they're the greatest thing since sliced bread. I find them very homogenious and bland, lowest common denominator. I think the Rolling Stones are better and they've sucked for like 30 years. Not to mention the fact that Bono is an uglier version of Robin Williams. Those glasses? Boo. Also, what's with "The Edge?" Please. As if he's particularly talented, especially relative to other rock and roll guitarists. I think one of the big reasons that people like them so much is because they give to charity. That's certainly nice of them, but that doesn't make them any good. They have like 3 or 4 really good songs, (One of which was written by John Lennon, so it only half counts.) with that many good songs I put them at the level of say, Supertramp or the Classics IV maybe Joe Cocker, but that's generous. You know who's better then U2? ELO, how do you like that? ELO has 11 solid songs.

Let me get this straight.
This TRAITOR, who actively aided and abbetted convicted terrorists, to continue their violent crusade, hides behind the grandmother and good-deed cards and gets a slap on the wrist for what amounts to high treason.

Now, instead of having a one way ticket to the chair, she walks out of court with a stupid smile on her face.

I wonder how the other inmates feel about traitors?
