Many times over different questions people make perhaps flippant remarks that the USA 'polices' Middle Eastern Countries and sticks their noses in for reasons including the rich and large oil deposits that exist there i.e. Iraq. Im not certain about this as isnt oil traded on the open market and therefore is available to purchase and therefore why wouldnt the USA just buy it like every other country? I may be being naieve here!

Do you believe Frist's proposal? Victory over Islamic radicals means having them run the government?

"Frist said he learned from military briefings that Taliban fighters were too numerous and had too much popular support to be defeated on the battlefield.

"You need to bring [the Taliban] into a more transparent type of government," he said during a visit to a military base in the Taliban stronghold of Qalat. "And if that's accomplished, we'll be successful."

My kids are currently placed in temp custody with my parents. I have finished all the tasks Cps has asked of me, and the social worker did comment on how well I'm doing, but yet, whenever she needs to return my phone calls, she drags her feet, All but my youngest child has been placed with my parents, the courts left the decison up to the social worker as to when he will join his siblings. I have unsupervised visits, but the social worker is dragging her feet about being specific (I'd like for my kids to spend the weekends, or be able to take them trick or treating) but I don't know if it's okay, and the dss worker drags her feet responding to anything we ask. My youngest got sick as soon as he was put with the foster mom, she claims he is doing fine now, but every court date, and whenever she thinks his time is short and he will be joining his siblings, she claims he gets sick! She is attached to him and doesn't want to let him go, the dss worker sees this and goes along with her!

There's a programme on ITV in which pregnant women who binge drink say the Government does not provide them with guidelines on safe drinking during pregnancy. If the Government provides guidelines on diet during pregnancy, it would surely be accused of running a nanny state. So what do people want the Government to do? Have we as a nation lost the ability to distinguish what is good from what is bad and to look after ourselves? Do you have sympathy for these women?

This was a famous case regarding the British military occupation of portions of (what is today) Maine, during the War of 1812. The complete legal reference is United States v. Rice, 17 U.S. (4 Wheat.) 246 (1819). However, I have been unable to find a link to this case on the internet. The FINDLAW website does not have this case.

Can anyone provide a link to this Supreme Court case from the year of 1819?

The international airport servicing Johannesburg was known as 'Jan Smuts Airport' from its construction in 1952 until 1994. In 1994, it was renamed to 'Johannesburg International Airport' to remove any political connotations. In 2006, it was announced that it would be renamed again, to 'Oliver Tambo International Airport'. Doesn't is seem that the ANC has double standards when they decided to change the name to a anti-apartheid politician??
