I'm not racist but the country voted labour and Blair, why all the talk he must go, I didn't vote for john major but didn't resort to he must go and when I ask is it because it is overseas owned papers or maybe immigrants who don't understand the democratic process I'm called racist, why most uk citizens understand the system. In the past that is all the IRA did they didn't agree with the existing government, so all I ask is this the same if you dont agree with the vote protest or whatever totsally ignore the national vote

The term racist is used by two sets of people: (1) those who violently disagree with you and try to use a demeaning term to describe you as some sub-human life form (a questionable tactic at best) and (2) by people who really are racist in the true sense of the term and know it and want to appear open-minded and fair when really they are generally closed-minded, biased, and extremely prejudiced.

Having said that, just because someone calls you racist, does not make you racist, any more than saying something negative about Israel makes you an anti-Semite (but what is wrong with being anti-Semitic anyway?). In the US you are branded "racist" if you say that black males commit the most crimes and make up most of the male prison inmate population (a statement which happens to be true). Say this and you are called "racist". It has come to the point where anything you say will be labelled "racist" by somebody who is probably really a racist themselves.

But then, I wonder if there is anything really wrong in being "racist" if the attitude is a positive one? Someone who works to aid the plight of black people, or native American Indians, or Eskimos would be clled a "racist". By all definition there are a great many black organizations in the US that would truly best be described as "racist" but to call them such would label you as a racist. If it were called "White Miss America" the NAACP would jump all over that as "racist", while "Black Miss America" is OK and according to them, not racist. So the whole practice of calling things racist is nothing more than biased, prjudiced hypocrisy.

The whole point of Democracy is that we can voice our opinions! I'm not an immigrant or an overseas owned paper but I say :-

GET BLAIR OUT!
GET BLAIR OUT!
GET BLAIR OUT!

Maybe you haven't noticed but since he was voted in - he's messed up quite a bit - this is where democracy comes in handy because we can change our minds about having him as PM!!

And your question does sound racist which is maybe why people call you racist!

Why start your question with "I'm not racist, but"? For Christ's sake say what you want to say and, as long as you don't abuse anybody, don't worry about all these left wing politically correct idiots.
Anyway,as far as I can see most racism these days comes from our black and Asian chums. Not to mention the Scots and Welsh.

Racism has its long roots. One of the earliest way people identified was trough belonging to tribe. Racism is easy way to identify "US" versus "THEM". If someone tries to brake this rule than it will be treated as "ONE OF THEM". Theres no place for morality or high intelectual background in here.
I these days racism finds its roots in Religion or Nationality. These both phenomena are complex and soil ground for interpretation and misusage.
