I took part in a thread where this partial definition was given...

""If a potential employer is going to judge me adversely, based on my political, religious, or other opinions, then I am SO SURE I do not want to work with them. It is still a 2 way street. That's called the American Spirit."

My response.. "What you say looks pretty in print, it may work for a select few but it won't get you very far in the real world for the vast majority, and you know it. If you really wanted to do these girls a favor you would explain that to them, instead of taking some idealistic approach that is going to sound wonderful to them *now* only to find out later in life that the world doesn't work that way. Also, your version of the American Spirit isn't going to pay the bills or put food on the table. Your interpretation of the American Spirit and other peoples interpretation may be different.

There is more to this post coming give me a minute here to add more details.

Hastert seems to be of the opinion that it's time to rethink allowing the Page program to continue in light of the Foley scandal. Wouldn't it be better to ensure these kids are treated with respect and not as fresh meat for dirty old men and women? The page program is important for those teens who aspire to public service and want to get first hand experience on how the country works.

Pakistan illegally detained innocent people on suspicion of terrorism, secretly imprisoned them, and transferred them to U.S. custody for money, human-rights watchdog Amnesty International said yesterday. President Pervez Musharraf, in a memoir released days ago, wrote that his government had earned bounties totaling "millions of dollars" from the transfer of terror suspects to U.S. authorities. Hundreds of Pakistanis and foreigners were rounded up in Pakistan on suspicion of links to terrorism since the U.S.-led war on terror started after the Sept. 11 attacks, Amnesty said in a report, "Human Rights Ignored in the War on Terror."

Fire & Rescue Service

VERY IMPORTANT NOTICE TO ALL OUR STAFF
Thrift Company Policy: Effective from April 2006

Dress Code
It is advised that you come to work dressed according to your salary. If we see you wearing Prada shoes and carrying a Gucci bag, we assume you are doing well financially and therefore do not need raise. If you dress poorly, you need to learn to manage your money better, so that you buy nicer clothes, and therefore you do not need a raise. If you dress just right, you are right where you need to be and therefore you do not need a raise.
Sick Days
We will no longer accept a doctors statement as proof of sickness. If you are able to go to the doctor, you are able to come to work.
Annual Leave Days
Each employee will receive 104Annual Leave days a year. They are
called Saturday & Sunday.
Bereavement Leave
This is no excuse for missing work. There is nothing you can do for dead friends, relatives or co-workers. Every effort should be made to have non-employees attend to the arrangements. In rare cases where employee involvement is necessary, the funeral should be scheduled in the late afternoon. We will be glad to allow you to work through your lunch hour and subsequently leave one hour early.
Toilet Use
Entirely too much time is being spent in the toilet. There is now a strict three-minute time limit in the stalls. At the end of three minutes, an alarm will sound, the toilet paper roll will retract, the stall door will open, and a picture will be taken. After your second offence, your picture will be posted on the company bulletin board under the Chronic offenders category. Anyone caught smiling in the picture will be sanctioned under the company's mental health policy.
Lunch Break
Skinny people get 30 minutes for lunch, as they need to eat more, so that they can look healthy. Normal size people get 15 minutes for lunch to get a balanced meal to maintain their average figure. Chubby people get 5 minutes for lunch, because that's all the time needed to drink a Slim-Fast.

Thank you for your loyalty to our company. We are here to provide a positive employment experience. Therefore, all questions, comments, concerns, complaints, frustrations, irritations, aggravations, insinuations, allegations, accusations, contemplation's, consternation and input should be directed elsewhere.

So many "questions" are painting pictures backwards and forgetting all the "reasons" for the war in the first place. Why is everything being looked at through hindsight as though we knew all that information all along?

Correct me if I'm mistaken, but I've been viewing Q&A's here, and they're very racist against Muslims. Am I wrong? Or is there a reason? I'd like to know your opinions on this; please explain your answer.

With more people working for civil services, government and council related jobs. The need to pay for these puts pressure on those in other work to pay for them through taxes and other stealth schemes. This in turn pushes prices up which means we have the 'council' workers need more money so higher taxes more stealth schemes. Britain becomes less competitive. Whats the answer?

Britain appears to becoming the world centre for thinking up ideas by government and local councils and then taxing a public that can do little more than pay up. Today we face cost for parking outside our own homes to parking anywhere the can stick a yellow line to over inflated council tax ...and the latest a series of rubbish charges from microchipping you bin to see how much you put in it. The idea of charging on top of council tax for rubbish removal already being spoken about. Every thing is important but lets get it into proportion what are your views?
