This was just an indication that he is also with bush in clash of civilzation, so let's face the fact.

Now let's see what Dalai Lama said.
"Human being by nature want happiness and do not want suffering. With that feeling everyone tries to achieve happiness and tries to get rid of suffering, and everyone has the basic right to do this. In this way, all here are the same, whether rich or poor, educated or uneducated, Easterner or Westerner, believer or non-believer, and within believers whether Buddhist, Christian, Jewish, Muslim, and so on. Basically, from the viewpoint of real human value, we are all the same"
I wish all the leaders of any religion would share this thought. Conservative way of thoughts may tie up the people inside of the group but hurting others is out of the aim.

Unfortunately what the pope said was true. It's a terrible thing to contemplate but he was right and only apologised because of all the hullaballoo from Muslims, which actually proved he was right to criticise their fanaticism and violence. (Because they were fanatical and violent in their response) It's a pity they can't see that the rest of us humans have a right to live, as well. You never hear them speak out about the racism directed to any other group in the world. They might be more believable if they did. They have such closed minds and can't see that other people have a right to their beliefs. I'm not religious because I can see the damage it does when people force their attitudes on to others. Let's face it, if our religions said that the Muslims were infidels and we had a right to destroy them, they would be so outraged that there wouldn't be any of our buildings left unbombed! Remember the fuss about the cartoon of the woman in a burkha, standing in front of a mirror saying "Does my bomb look big in this?" You would have thought we were being exhorted to murder them from all the fuss. Paranoia, guys, come on, get a sense of humour!! It's pointless talking to you people your minds are sealed early in your life. Trying to reason with the irrational is always futile so I'll stop. Wouldn't you like to feel good instead of self-righteous? And as someone else pointed out, we do not want muslims to join any other faith. If the koran says that it is lying, but I don't believe it says that!!

I cannot speak for Christians but I can tell you categorically that Jews do not want others to join their faith. In fact, they put you through the third degree and try to convince the person applying that he/she should not become a Jew. It is against the Jewish faith to try to convert someone to Judaism. As far as the Muslim faith is concerned the Koran clearly states that conversion to the Islamic faith is required. If a prisoner is captured in battle he is given 3 choices: first is to convert to Islam, next he can pay a ransom and finally he can chose death. Mohammad was probably a good man. He knew a great deal about the Jewish Talmud and modeled the Muslim faith after it. He also knew about Christianity as well as Buddism but he did want the world to convert to the Muslim faith as said so.

You Muslims are the ones who behead people and kill innocent children. You started the terrorism. The Pope made a statement and you Muslims proved him right. Until your barbarous nation stops blowing other countries up, burning things and killing people we will protect ourselves against you. From your terribly misspelled post, I realize that you can not write very well. But I hope this hits home. Your people started this war by ramming planes into our trade towers and Pentagon. What did you expect us to do? Sit there and let you come here and kill us?
You're crazy. That is justification for self defense.

He was QUOTING something somebody else said hundreds of years ago. You need to learn to read the entire context of a statement and not just the propaganda that the media puts out in the form of partial statements.
And what about the fanatics who used the Pope's quote as an excuse to murder an elderly nun in Somalia? The whole WORLD is afraid of those kinds of fanatics. The Bin Ladens of this world, the Attas. The people who kill for the joy of it, and would kill regardless of their religious beliefs, just because they love to kill.
I'm personally sick of the whole thing. When everybody flips out because somebody reads an ancient quote, something is seriously crazy wrong in this world.

If somebody accuses you of being violent and you react by being violent ,are you not proving the point? You should not be offended by people who speak the truth.Muslims, themselves do not agree with muslims (why are terrorist breaking the 10 commandents, and why have moderate muslims not joined the call to Jihad by Bin Laden?) so how can jews and christians agree with muslims?
