Dressing neatly and well is a better way of life. It may not be for impressing others and to look smart. Smartness is not associated with one's dress. Of course, well dressed persons look good and it will be pleasent for others to see a well dressed person.

I dress for myself based on the occassion, but I don't dress for other people. I dress as a matter of positive self esteem. When I know I look good, I feel good. Clothing is a personal choice and should reflect your own style, but never doubt that people do judge you by your appearance whether you like it or not.

Because everyone wants to impress others... U are surrounded by strangers
when u go out and u r always hoping that people will admire u or u will find
someone interesting... U want to look the best

there's a saying 'to put your best foot foreward' by trying to dress nice you may accomplish that; as well as the first impression for you may never get another chance. As for me I dress the way I want: ) I just make sure my clothes are clean.
