Do you think Congress will do a better job of managing things like the budget if they hear from the public(not special interest groups, but the actual public, the people that pay taxes and vote etc) on more of the issues? Do they have too much autonomy with the Big Magic Checkbook, etc?

Are you proud to be an American? Do you appreciate all that has been done to guarantee our freedom?Whether you agree with war,do you give thanks and appreciation to our soldiers? Many battles have been fought for our freedom but the biggest battle is between our own citizens......we all need to come together and be as ONE! Defend our country, our civil rights, and give thanks to our forefathers for having the faith to give us the oppurtunities we have to succeed in life. And most of all, praise GOD for continuing to bless us daily...whether you see it or not.....we are a blessed country. Our country was founded on religious principles....people read the pre and post minutes of the meetings...God was there and he is here today!Have a happy and joyous 4th of July.Be careful......and thank a soldier for your freedom.

A family friend of mine is going to court for killing his neighbor's dog. That dog, (a pit bull), has been a danger to the neighborhood for a long time. The owner's neighbor's, including my friend, and the city, have all told the owner a number of times to keep the dog restrained or to get rid of it, but they refused. A little while ago, the dog got out and badly mauled my friend's 7 year old daughter. As I understand it, the girl's ankle was nearly crushed, and there was a good deal of tissue damage to her calf. She has been in the hospital for 2 days now. Later that day, he walked into the owner's front yard and shot the dog a number of times, killing it. Nobody has told me what specific charges he is facing. This happened in Anaheim, Ca. What could he be charged with, and what possible sentence could he recieve?

Today I was watching the Sunday morning political shows(more like propaganda shows). Every issue discussed is a topic on the right wing's agenda. How can anybody in their right mind think the media is controlled by liberals?

2 months ago, there was a show on PBS that specifically stated what issues we were going to see all the way up to the November election: immigration, gay marriage, national security.

We've seen immigration and gay marriage already and now here goes all the hype about national security and the liberals wanting to go easy on the media and terrorist. It's nothing but a ploy to get republicans re-elected in the Fall.

If the media was controlled by the liberals, then how are all the issues you see on tv being from the neocon's agenda? Freaking common sense knows the answer to that one.

I heard that George Bush said the constitution was just another peice of paper and was outdated.
George Bush's actions are outside the constraints of the Constitution. Is it ok for the Constitution to be rewritten based on George Bush's judgements and ideas?

With obesity rising in Western countries to epidemic levels, would government funded and driven youth camps for all children, which would be dedicated to health and fitness help solve the problem? It could potentially be an extension of school.

If it does, there is a problem. Hitler created youth camps to help build his third reich for his 'european tour'.

so basically could we (and should we) solve the fat problems of youth with camps like these, without the racism and hate that was actively encouraged within the Hitler youth and without the rest of the world thinking we are vyeing for world domination?

If the goverment, nor scientists, were and are not certain when a "fetus", (unborn child) is a "living human", then should the federal goverment avoid any involment in the topic and procedure? Shouldn't the goverment have, perhaps, allowed private abortion clinics and refused federal funding, since they were and are not certain when an unborn child is living?

Also, since abortion often and very much offends the religeous, is it Constitutional to force the religious to financialy support a procedure that contradicts their belief? For instance, should Christians be forced to financially support, (through taxes) federal abortions when they are religiously against the procedure?

Isn't it hypocritical for civil-rights activists, (pro-choicers, feminists) to fervantly defend the "rights of women" while violating the rights of the religious? Shouldn't these activists be against federal funding of abortions, which violate the rights of the religious?
