Neither of them. It's those people that are running America for themslves not for the people. They are more interested in making themselves happy even if it means someone else going homeless because cost of housing, utlities, gas for cars (can't get to work without it), health insurance for kids and yourself,..etc. and to think the min. wage is what $7.00 and something??..Something is going to give..Ohh..that's right...go to college and get a better job?..That's going up too..college tuition is rising..So..the rich get richer and the poor are getting poorer..Yes...it the corrupt people in the government trying to line their own pockets. It's amazing if a person has alot of money who they can buy off in the government...it's no big secret.
That's my story and I'm sticking to it!
I'd run for a government position but I got to go to work to help feed my family and sock some away for retirement..DON'T GET ME STARTED!!

I would like to say the Republicans - but it was the American Citizenry who voted them in TWICE!
On the other hand I was in the US a few weeks ago and everyone I talked to could not understand how GWB got elected once, let alone twice.
Maybe a massive voting fraud?

George Bush and the Republicans--- AND--- the people who voted for them; who voted out of fear, who went for the easy answers they wanted to hear, who think that merely waving flags is patriotism. Also, those who did not vote bear part of the blame.
I don't recall who said this, but in a democracy, the people get the government they deserve. So-- the people who supported & voted for Bush & the Republicans "own" the blame.
What really steams me, is that a lot of these people are now very loudly complaining.

I don't think it's one particular group of people that can burden the blame for America's current status of affairs. However, since President Bush has been head of state, things have gone downhill for us. So, unfortunately, I think it would have to be the Republicans who must shoulder most of the blame.

We are, we are too busy making money etc.that has become God and nothing else is important. The system has evolved into a super power/money grab, we have allowed the middle class to shrink (and they are the people that fund the government) and when that happens the country will dissolve. So be prepared to become a close relative of Mexico or relocate, or we could get off our backsides and fix this one.

I think you can assign blame to Congress in general. It seems like they are governed more by special interests than by the real concerns of their constituents.
Of course, the American people are to blame as well. More people vote for the next American Idol than in elections.

umm...how about it was a series of events leading up to the situation, and no one is really at fault...You must be a democrat because you are still trying to blame the world's problems on a single group.
