First of All, we remember that the USA a big industry of oil, USA must have more and more resources of oil from all over the world its fact, but main thing is that Mr. Bush Senior and Mr. Cheney is a part of an oil firm and they both were takeover the main oil resources of the world only earning for money and shame full is that they used USA Army and pressurizing the International community for that if any one not agree with them they called Terror or Terror Nation, I think that American peoples are not involve in the killing of Muslims and distorting the Muslims territory, but Mr. Bush is working for Cheney hopes with the using of American Military.

The kool aid is flowing like a river through the recesses of your mind, could you put the New York Times down for a few and read the Courts rendering. Precedent was thrown away, Stare Decisis was thrown away, and international law replaced the constitution. Congress will correct the matter. We are at war as you cited you ignore what I cited, It is the president that wages war and you expect to have FLEA Bailey to be there with the 101st Airborne to give miranda rights. How can one be covered by the Geneva Convention if you are not a signatory? One must be a participant if you are to participate, except if you sit on the Supreme courts liberal wing.

Elected representatives in a democracy -- whether members of a parliament, assembly, or congress -- are there to serve the people. They perform a number of roles essential to the functioning of a healthy democracy.
Elected legislatures are the principal forum for deliberating, debating, and passing laws in a representative democracy. They are not so-called rubber stamp parliaments merely approving the decisions of an authoritarian leader.
Oversight and investigation powers allow legislators to publicly question government officials about their actions and decisions, and otherwise serve as a check on the power of various government ministries -- especially in the presidential system of governing where the legislature is separate from the executive.
Legislators may approve national budgets, conduct hearings on pressing issues, and confirm executive appointees to courts and ministries. In some democracies, legislative committees provide lawmakers a forum for these public examinations of national issues.
Legislators may support the government in power or they may serve as a loyal political opposition that offers alternative policies and programs.
Legislators have a responsibility to articulate their views as effectively as possible. But they must work within the democratic ethic of tolerance, respect, and compromise to reach agreements that will benefit the general welfare of all the people -- not just their political supporters. Each legislator must alone decide on how to balance the general welfare with the needs of a local constituency.
Legislators often provide constituents with a sympathetic hearing for their individual complaints and problems -- along with help in getting assistance from large government bureaucracies. To do this, they often maintain a staff of trained aides.
National legislators are usually elected in one of two ways. In plurality elections, sometimes called "first past the post," the candidate with the most votes wins. In the proportional system, often used in parliamentary elections, voters usually cast ballots for parties, not individuals, and representatives are chosen on the basis of their party's percentage of the vote.
A proportional system tends to encourage multiple, tightly organized smaller parties. Plurality elections encourage a looser, two-party system. Under either system, representatives engage in the debate, negotiation, coalition building, and compromise that are the hallmarks of democratic legislatures.
Legislatures are often bicameral, with two chambers, and new laws generally require passage by both the upper and lower chambers.

If you are worried about Executive Power, read the Emergency War Powers Act by Eugene Schroeder. We've been in a constant state of emergency since Abe Lincoln.

I thought besides WMD Bush often said that a higher power told him to invade Iraq. Why hasn't any of Bush's family joined the cause or Chaney or even members of congress last I read one member of congress had a realative there. They are all for war as long as it doesn't include their love ones or themselves.

With most laws he signs, he adds a cause that allows him to opt out of them "if necessary." He is ranking with IKE these days, certainly not the legacy he was hoping for. His Mideast gambit has failed, that is for sure, and with it his presidency. And still the borders are not secure, the ports are not safe, and we are 9 trillion in debt that our grandkids will still be paying. Thank you Texas and the republican party for knocking the USA out of superpower status. Now we a approaching equality with the the EU, China, and India. Maybe if we are really lucky, we can be equal to Brazil and Egypt. The golden days are gone, and it is Bush and company that have done it. I hope he has enough money to shield his family from the tough era ahead.

Maybe he went to war because of the hundreds of thousands that Saddam and his regime has killed over the years. It is pretty sad that you get killed because you lost a soccer game.
