Seriously. There is apparently a very large percentage of the population that thinks this should be a Christian nation. They want prayer in the schools, Christian displays in government buildings, and Christian morals enacted as laws. They oppose same-sex marriage and gay adoption because their religion says homosexuality is bad. They oppose freedom of choice because they don't like the choices. Not to mention that we have a currently entrenched government that doesn't value the rest of the Constitution, objects to courts that try to protect Constitutional rights, and thinks the Commander-in-Sheik should be above the law. So, let's say they're right. How many people out there think this country has become unsalvageable and think it's time to follow the example of our Founding Fathers and find someplace free from religious and political persecution? Show of hands, how many are up for going elsewhere and founding a new country, and trying to get it right this time? Seriously.

“Privilege or Entitlement?

It seems to me, that at some point in our nations history, we shifted from the "Land of Opportunity" to the "Land of Entitlement." All too often I hear folks complain that the government "owes" them, or the government should be "helping." This line of thought irks me.

I am going to throw this last part in, because I am concerned that this question might transition to some kind of racial or gender issue. Race or gender has nothing to do with my above thoughts. There are women and men, white folks, african american folks, latino folks and on and on, who have been proactive and acted as though America is a land of opportunity and made a great life for themselves. And there are all of the mentioned groups who have done the opposite; threw their lives away and yelled at the government for not helping.

(And please, I am aware that Hurricane Katrina was a debacle that didn't make this question easy to ask)

What are your thoughts?”

Everyone wonders why the government won't do anything about all the illegals. Is it because the ultimate goal of our president and his cronies is to give away our standard of living completely? He told the newspaper that he was seriously considering a 2008 bid. As he has before, McCain said he will wait until after the 2006 election to decide about his political future.

THE political career of Arnold Schwarzengger was predicted in a 1993 movie, "Demolition Man," in which Sylvester Stallone plays an ex-cop put in a 36-year deep freeze for manslaughter. Basically I just dont understand why it is like this. If people are poor and they CANT pay their bills because they CANT make enough to cover it, why are the punished more for this stupid credit score system set up by banks to keep people in a set area for their whole life. This is for people who are honestly trying to make it in the world, going to school working full time and not have a million kids.
