It doesn't take a page to answer this, some wars do bring peace. There are/were periods of peace after all major wars, another can be started for a different reason by a different country at any time. There will always be wars as long as there are different countries with different politics or beliefs. Give war a chance!

No, I do not agree with you. Lets go back in History a bit shall we?? We'll look at american history.
American Revolution - That brought peace between England and the colonies.
Civil war - The country was divided, the south suceeded from the union, war brought about peace and human advancement for this country.
Spanish American War- Ended the civil war between spain and cuba
WWI- Germany got the blame for it, but historians think it was really serbia that manipulated this one. Either way, Germany's policies and agreession spread the war. The war prevented domination and promoted peace, for awhile at least.
WWII- Germany and Japan were the agressors in this one. Germany wanted to control the west and Japan wanted the east. Both learned many lessons in this war. Germany was separated basically in half for 45 years, along with troops to this day inside their borders. Japan also learned many lessons from this war. Japan is one of America's biggest allies today.
Korean conflict?- Has not been officially ended yet, so all I can say is we have a cease fire, and South Korea is prospering. While north Korea is still pulling their BS.
Vietnam-We were there to stop the spread of communism and promote democracy.
Dessert Storm- Iraq invaded kuwait. The coalition pushed Iraq back to their own country, put sanctions in place with hopes that Saddam controlled government would settle down. (Brought peace for Kuwait and the coalition got to go home)
Saddam of course used the sanctions and the greed of Russia, France, and Germany to further his cause. So he kept on with business as usual. So the recent war with Iraq is bringing about a new government for the people of Iraq, and they are all working for peace.
The war on terror? - Well that is still going ....and will be for quite a while. Yes wars bring about peace.
The old saying "you have to break a few eggs to make an omelet"
These are just US events, there have been many other conflicts around the world during the past 200 years.

"The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants."
Thomas Jefferson

People want peace, of course. But at what cost. If the cost of peace is moral apathy than that cost is too high. Sometimes the only moral course is war. Look at WWII. And now we have great relations with Japan.

American Revolution. Who is our first ally in Europe?

Sometimes wars bring lasting peace to a certain culture. And sometimes after the war, there is increased violence else where. But the course of apathy because we what to avoid open war usually only causes more death than the war itself.

Some peace is worse than war such as during the more peaceful years under Saddam Hussein and prior to September 1st, 1939 under Hitler. A whole lot of evil under the name of peace is often the result. The Pax Romana was a period of extreme cruelty.

When war is in opposition to cruel tyrants it's preferable to peace.

I would like to agree with you if I have never heard this quotation that " If you want peace; always ready for war". If the man of present age have never seen WW1st & WW2nd, may he see hundreds of tiny wars since last 100 years. Who don't want peace, it's natural desire of man, but he has to war. There are a few fools in the mankind history who creat wars others have to war.

I do not agree. War sucks, no doubt about it. But they are some times unavoidable. If no one had stopped Hitler, where would we be today? If no one had stopped Saddam, his sons would still be raping women, Saddam would still be murdering people.

Sometimes war is the only solution and the only way to bring peace.

Yes I agree WITH you. Wars only cause destruction and loss. in the end, a war is just a way of letting out political rivalry and all and poor innocent people come in between who are the ones who die. the national leaders are the ones who cause all sorts of rifts and disagreements and in the end, they are last to get harmed in any way.
its likea game of chess. all the other pawns in between the two leaders are the ones who die first. the ones who are the main players don't harm themselves, just the people who have no choice but to fight FOR them.
its ironic that the people who are loyal to the leaders and fight for them are the ones who come to harm.
happy?

War is not about bringing about peace. It is all about the almighty dollar, and power. If you are in touch with reality, you would realize this to be the bottom line.
