You can't take certain jobs in the army for colorblindness when you first enlist. My recruiter said that once you are in the army and you change your M.O.S. after reenlisting that you could get a wavier for jobs that you would otherwise not be able to get because of being colorblind.
If i couldn't get 19d b/c I'm colorblind but I enter as an 88m and then change to 19d after a couple of years then they would waiver you me in.

He's five foot-two, and he's six feet-four,
He
fights with missiles and with spears.
He's all of
thirty-one, and he's only seventeen,
Been a soldier
for a thousand years.

He'a a Catholic, a Hindu,
an Atheist, a Jain,
A Buddhist and a Baptist and a Jew.
And he knows he shouldn't kill,
And he knows he
always will,
Kill you for me my friend and me for you.

And he's fighting for Canada,
He's
fighting for France,
He's fighting for the USA,
And he's fighting for the Russians,
And he's
fighting for Japan,
And he thinks we'll put an end to
war this way.

And he's fighting for
Democracy,
He's fighting for the Reds,
He says
it's for the peace of all.
He's the one who must
decide,
Who's to live and who's to die,
And
he never sees the writing on the wall.

But without
him,
How would Hitler have condemned him at Labau?
Without him Caesar would have stood alone,
He's the
one who gives his body
As a weapon of the war,
And
without him all this killing can't go on.

He's the Universal Soldier and he

She was in a bad situation with drugs and an abusive relationship when she was 17 and her answer to get out was to join the national gaurd. She passed basic and is going to AIT in the summer after she finishes high school. But she doesn't want this, I don't want this. Does anyboby know a way to void her contract or get her discharged before her AIT class starts? Or even durning AIT? She's in less than a year so it'll be entry level seperation, I just don't want her to to get a bad record if she doesn't have to.Please, any help would be appreciated.

Please don't answer this if your going to say "suck it up!" or try to point out the benifits of staying in. I know the pros and cons and still want her out. Thanks.

PS I was in the army myself, 4 years/infantry so I'm pretty knowledgable.

I've heard so many people talking about the war and should we be ther, what should we do. How should we fix this and how should we ensure our borders are secure?

I recently overheard a discussion regarding nuclear strikes. What do you think would happen to America if we decided to simply nuke all our enemies?

Okay....Just hire the VIET CONG and the NVA from the Vietnam war as mercenaries for this war!!!

They beat us fair and square in that war..lets hire em for this one..give em minimum wage, with a performance bonus.

It would be cheaper than using our guys...besides the Vietnamese do not cry when their body count goes up like amercans do.

We killed 3.5 million Vietnamese in that war and they WON!!!!!!.let em win one for UNCLE SAM....minimum wage VICTORY!

Hey.. at the last minute...our soldiers could rush in and claim the Victory....the make the NVA and Cong sell peanuts to the crowd...min wage of course. GAWD bless Amerikkka

My boyfriend gave me a set of his military ID tags as a Christmas gift, and said that IF anything were to happen to him I would be notified by a liason of sorts. (Of course the military would not tell me due to me not being family...) He said there is an address I could send it to and they would send me back a bracelet with sort of the same info on it for me to keep. He said a few fellow soldiers he knew had these bracelets or friends who have fallen. I've never heard of this nor can I find out any info on this. Do anyone know ANYTHING about this?

My husband was deployed last year from Nov-June. This year he is also getting deployed from Feb-June. With our new son who will be a year soon and my five year old I'm having a hard time figuring out what I'm going to do.

Last deployment, for the majority, I was pregnant and my five year old was in pre-school so I did get breaks every now and again. We were also stationed at a base with family nearby to help This time [seeing as I'm a stay at home mom] I will be with my son 24/7 with no relief along with my cousin--who is also a dependent. I'm not looking for a free ride but would like a few hours a week so that I can stay sane, if you know what I mean! We cannot visit family because my cousin is still in school and I would not like to move him more then I have to.

I was wondering if the AF offers any kind of daycare/relief for spouses and dependents? If not, how do you [military spouses w/ children] do it? I know it is going to be the hardest deployment yet but I just want to know what are tricks to keeping your sanity?

Why do people blaim America for killing innocent people in war?

Please.....

First of all we are the nicest nation in war there probably ever was. The people we are fight now in Iraq and Afgan would not show the kindness we have shown. What nation gives back land? Twice!

Second, If Mr. Abu or whatever would like to go hide behind some kid and his family. Then he is to blaim for getting them killed. We are not required to lose 10 American soldiers for one kid. It's not right and not our faults...

well, we know he had them, he used them to murder many of his own countrymen..women and children..if you have doubts of the savaginess of this, research a little and look at the pictures of the dead children in the dirt, arms outward, maybe crying for help..
why did sadaam not let the weapons inspectors do their job? if he had nothing to hide, why risk sanctions then attacks?..
look at all the man had, he had a country with huge palaces just for him..basically, he had anything he wanted...why would a man take the risk of losing all this?
he saw the military buildup against him, and he had to know his army really wasn't much of a challenge, so why risk an attack and the possibility of losing everything or dying?
i suppose the thinking confuses me...don't tell me the story that he was worried about an attack from iran, thus the weapons facade...he knew good and well that had he cooperated with the weapons inspectors, the u.n. would have been behind him should iran cause trouble..also he was telling the world he had nothing anyway, so iran would have attacked had they had the wherwithall to do so..
now here in america we have democrats saying we told you so and republicans saying we were wrong to go into iraq since there were no wmd's,,,but there were!..where are they..
i think had sadaam destroyed them he would gladly have pointed that out to the weapons inspectors...i believe they are still buried there someplace...there is no way in hell that all of iraq has been searched...

I was watching "Band of Brothers" and in a scene a soldier is injured and an "M" is written on his forehead in blood. He was given morphine before this so I'm trying to figure out if the "M" was written to say that he received morphine or if it meant that he had a mortal wound and not expected to live.
