No, I don't think so.

There was no reason to: the Nazi party had a tight grip on Germany & so there was no reason to believe Germany would surrender if Hitler died. On the contrary, he could have become a martyr figure, which could have been of value to the German war effort, at least in the short term. Perhaps the biggest reason for keeping him in place was that he was commander in chief of the German forces, despite the fact that (although he was a brilliant rabble rouser & an unsupassed political opportunist) his military career never advanced further than the rank of Corporal.

There were actually numerous attempts. The incident in the Wolf's Lair was an inside job, and he only survived because he inadvertantly moved the briefcase to the other side of an oak table support.

no the allies pretty much backed hitler, wall street financed him, even america didn't think him evil waited a few years until 1941 to actually fight nazi's, unlike their canadian brothers, who thought hitler a menace and started fighting much earlier
